Located in Canada’s Northwest Territories, the peaks of the Cirque of the Unclimbables are listed in North America’s 50 classic climbs. Three friends packraft their way to one of the range’s most iconic peaks, the Lotus Flower.
Teaching someone how to hand jam on one of the most remote and big climbs in north america...priceless! I figured they could have brought a couple ascenders and ladders to teach him how to jug the rope to join you guys!
Wow. This was ridiculously stupid and dangerous. Lotus Flower Tower has, I believe, 19 pitches, each varying in difficulty ranging from 5.8-5.11d. Taking someone on their first climb to a rock face with a 5.11d pitch is basically asking them if they'd like to die. Big surprise none of them made it. They had no clue just how difficult this climb can be just due to the weather and remoteness of the area.
