I don’t know if you will see this, but I just wanted to say I love your interpretation. Whenever I want to listen to this excellent Veracini sonata this is is the video I return to.
Love the E-B-E triple stops Veracini ends with. From beginning to end, this sonata is full of verve and brilliance. Incidentally, he was also known to have a megalomaniacal ego, having said something to the effect that there was but one God and one Veracini!
Je trouve que c'est interprété justement. C'est dans ce style là que je le joue ( mais pas aussi bien techniquement). D'autres le joue trop lyrique à mon goût.
@@rowanbelt3612 both. Piano makes it sounds pathetic for a baroque piece. And I won't be suprised if this piece was just attributet to Veracini not actualy composed by him
@@proq06 For what it’s worth, I’ve played this sonata from the original continuo part which definitely looked like an authentic Baroque part. In contrast, there are no such parts for Kreisler’s “Pagnani” Praeludium and Allegro. IMSLP probably lists a publisher and publication date. I think the dramatic quality you’re hearing is the product of a brilliant and extremely egotistical mind. Also, there has been a rising consensus that Baroque music was intended to be performed in a much more dramatic manner than it has often been. Finally, some characteristics like modern piano and constant vibrato are indeed anachronistic.
@@rowanbelt3612 You are right with no Kreisler type musical freud but this piece can be a target of deeper investigation, I think it is a good material for PhD. I would also love to listen to it with clavichord accompaniament maybe then it will sound more baroque for me. And about method of performing, it is always hard for us to eyeball this because of small number of musical terms other than parts names like adagio etc for example Bach didnt want us to know how to perform his music haha.

Personally I see no reason to question its authenticity as a late Baroque composition. Its “Romantic” qualities can be chalked up to the Italian style and variety of Baroque music.
