Thanks a million for uploading this! After Seles retired, I adopted Venus as my all time favorite. She has always been the epitome of grace and class. With that said, I needed to see these moments of rage just so I can be sure she is human. Venus chances are you may never read this or know who I am. But I so love you. Until this day it blows my mind how they thought the beads were a disturbance. & the commentators saying "it's not allowed, she's been warned". Question, did they realize that her only options would be check all the breads & double tie each end or take them out? All options would take longer than a 1 min break 🙄 It's really sad how Venus(+Serena) were treated but I'm glad she defended herself regardless.

Penalizing a point for the beads falling out is racism at its’ worst! As Venus said, her opponent was certainly focusing on the serve and not her hair.

The bead incident was something that opened white folks eyes to black hair, as a person of color im not offeneded i consider it like a girl who wears a bunch of rubber bands in her hair or scrunchies or brets

I usually like Venus, but that beads incident…And that was a lot of beads falling on the court. It could potentially cause injury to herself and the opponent when step on it.
