Hey Ben, Great Video. I just wanted to share my (unfavorable) experience with AT&T and getting a SIM working in my VEO 2. I received my camera about a week ago, I immediately set it up and connected it to my mobile hotspot and was able to stream a game, but the cords were a pain, so I definitely wanted to take advantage of the sim card slot. Having waited for six months for this camera, I knew it was not going to work with my 5G SIM Card, so I visited the local AT&T store. They no longer stock any 4G SIMS in the stores and suggested I call and see if I could "get one out of the warehouse". I did that, and was told that a new 4G SIM would be sent. Received the SIM today, and it is another 5G SIM. Called AT&T Again, and they assured me that their 5G SIM "should work in any 4G device", basically dismissing my protests to the contrary. So I am going to be headed out for the Simply Mobile SIM card to get my camera streaming, and removing my mobile hot spot service from my AT&T Account.

did you solve the problem with the ATT SIM card? I just got my VEO 2 and went to ATT, They said the SIM I got from them works with 4G and or 5G. So far I am not successful. Pls let me know what did you do. Thanks.

In my experience only T-mobile and Google Fi SIM cards work in the camera at this point. But now you can use the hotspot streaming feature in the Veo camera app to stream off any hotspot so that should work with an AT&T or Verizon hotspot. I used that feature in our last game

With the last couple of firmware updates you can setup a wireless connection in the Veo 2 configuration to a mobile host spot or phone. I use a T-Mobile 100G 5G hot spot. I have seen some impacts on battery life as a result versus using a dedicated ethernet cable to stream.

@@scotthopkinson9425 Yes, I've used the Inseego hotspot I wrote about here, soccerstripes.com/veo-camera-2-review-record-livestream/#veo-camera-accessories, to livestream without the ethernet cable. I agree that streaming seems to pulls more battery than just recording

To configure the Veo 2 wifi to hotspot, be sure to have an iOS device. Android app does not yet have the wifi configuration options. Per Veo Android app parity to iOS is coming in 2022.

For me when i do livestream. The camera needs to be warmed up before even attempting to go live. Start the camera up at least 15 minutes before trying to go live, even if both of the connection lights are light up, otherwise the stream will fail to go live several times. The other thing i have noticed for my camera is that when you put the opposition team name in, i can only use a 1 word team name. I.e Brothers instead of say Brothers White
@EasySportsVideo
@EasySportsVideo 2 года назад
Hi Stuart, I agree. We mention that a few places in our review, soccerstripes.com/veo-camera-2-review-record-livestream/, give yourself more time at the field before the game to get the livestream setup and started. Definitely don't wait until the opening whistle to start the stream in case you run into issues. I missed our first two goals of Regionals bc I waited until the whistle blew. We scored two quick ones right off the bat and I missed them both

Hey Ben so you have to have a 4 G sim card? What if your phone is 5 G? And also after recording how do you upload to get your recordings?
@EasySportsVideo
@EasySportsVideo 2 года назад
Hi Mario, from what I understand that's still the requirement. Although the last few weekends I've been streaming off my hotspot rather than the SIM card in the camera and that's worked well. That way you can stream off a 5G hotspot. There are two ways to upload your footage. One is to use the adapter that we write about here under Game Upload - soccerstripes.com/veo-camera-2-review-record-livestream/#veo-camera-accessories Now you can also upload wirelessly, this section shows how to connect your Veo 2 to your Wi-Fi in the Veo camera app - soccerstripes.com/veo-camera-2-review-record-livestream/#veo-camera-apps

Hi Ben. Great video. What is the adapter you are using for USB-C to Ethernet on the Veo, was it included in your purchase, because it was missing in mine, unless Veo removed them from their packages? Do you think I can use a Pixel 6 Pro instead of the MiFi box that you are using? Do these adapters drain a lot of power from the devices and you need to have a power source at the same time? Thanks.
@EasySportsVideo
@EasySportsVideo 2 года назад
Hi Ghassan, its the Ethernet + Charge Adaptor that I talk about in our Veo camera review - soccerstripes.com/veo-camera-2-review-record-livestream/#veo-camera-accessories When the Veo 2 first shipped it was included in the case because you couldn't do a wi-fi upload. I think since that's been added it doesn't ship with the camera any longer but I'd still recommend getting one since it's faster to upload over Ethernet vs wireless. So if you have 5 games to upload you can get them done a lot faster. In terms of power, I plug the USB-c charge into the adapter at the same time as the Ethernet so it's uploading and charging at the same time. In terms of the hotspot stream, I put out another video with what we've learned - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-usaMMJB2fzk.html you'll see in there I keep it close to the camera so if you streamed off your Pixel Pro you wouldn't be able to use it during the game. I haven't streamed off a hotspot on my phone, I've only uses a separate hotspot device.

@@EasySportsVideo Thanks for your answers The Ethernet adapter was not included in my Veo 2. Donuts think this adapter connected to a celle phone with USB tethering would work as an Ethernet hotspot for the Veo cam 2? Is there really less options (wifi hotspot) in android compared to iOS (i only use my Pixel 2 and 6 Pro)?

Hey Ben. Do you think a veo camera would work on a large field. My AFL (Aussie Rules) team wants to try one for our season. But the field is a 180 long x 150 wide oval. Would they work?
@EasySportsVideo
@EasySportsVideo 2 года назад
I've never tried it on a field that dimension so I hesitate to say without testing it first. I believe the machine learning engine bases its decisions on what it already understands so if it hasn't been trained on a oval field it could get confused at the edges. I imagine it would work fine on the majority of the field but the end of the fields are important since that's where the points are scored so would need to research more. We do rent out our cameras if you'd like to try one out and see how it goes - easysportsvideo.com/start/#reservecamera

Hi Jose, this part of the review talks about the camera plans - soccerstripes.com/veo-camera-2-review-record-livestream/#veo-camera-plans You don't need a plan to record but in order to have the game processed and analyzed you need a plan. So it doesn't do you any good to have a camera without a plan.

Does the Veo Live camera require a password to get camera talking to your phone (similarly to Veo 1)?

Hi Trinity, no you don't enter a password for the Veo 2 like you did with the first camera. You open the Veo camera app and add the camera (or just tap on it if you've already added it). Then you tap the "Enable Preview" button to see the camera view.

Hi, if you want to livestream you'll need a Veo 2 camera. We know a lot of teams that have a Veo 1 that don't need to livestream so they still use their Veo 1 they bought a few years ago. However, some have upgraded to a Veo 2 since they needed to be able to livestream their games. You can get a discount on a Veo 2 if you need to stream here - EasySportsVideo.com/VeoDiscount

Great Video, thanks for sharing. Been struggling all morning with my new T Mobile Sim Card. Got a Mobile Internet 50GB plan for $55.0 per month. This plan includes Unlimited Messages, Unlimited Included Data, Unlimited Picture Messages, Unlimited Messages, Unlimited Picture Messages, Unlimited Included Data. The IMEI number is compatible, the guys at T Mobile insist it's been activated. But I can't get the VEO to recognize that connection to save my life. Any suggestions?
@EasySportsVideo
@EasySportsVideo 2 года назад
Hi Fred, that sounds like the plan I had, 50GB Mobile Internet. That one was 4G so the SIM card worked in the camera. At first it was the 100GB Mobile for 5G and that didn't work, so I changed it to 50GB Mobile. I needed the guy at the store to change the effective date of the plan to the previous period so the 4G service would be in effect right away. Although since then I changed it back to 100GB Mobile for 5G and put it in the Inseego MiFi M2000 and have been streaming off the hotspot - ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-usaMMJB2fzk.html
