Morjens-tervist! Koko Pietarin ympäristö oli aikoinaan suomensukuisten kansojen aluetta. Terve Piiteri ümbruskond oli omal ajal soomesuguste rahvaste territoorium.🇫🇮🇫🇮🇫🇮
@airport2000 Though it's true that a lot of Russians are actually Russian-speaking Finno-Ugric people, I doubt that modern day Estonians are genetically very similar to them. Throughout history Estonians have mixed mostly with Germanic peoples - Danish, Germans and Swedish and very little with Slavs. By the way quite a big part of Latvians are also assimilated Finns because of Livonians who were the original people around modern day Latvia's coast including Riga.
@airport2000 Umm not at all. Russians from Saint Petersburg are all immigrants from Central Russia, very few have ancestry from that area. Only Russians from Vologda (Which is insanely far North) have any sort of Finno Ugric ancestry that shows up on Autosomial DNA.
@@carleryk No, very few Russians are Russian-speaking Finno Ugric people. Actually none. However a lot of Finno Ugric people (Such as Mordvins and Erzya) are Finno Ugric speaking Slavs.
I'm not sure if Vepsian is more similar to Finnish or Estonian, but as an Estonian myself it seems more similar to Estonian. If I read the Vepsian wikipedia page I can understand almost everything. I can't speak Finnish myself but just for me it seems more Estonian than Finnish or like a hybrid language of both. it could be a so called "hybrid language" because the Vepsian people inhabited pretty much in the areas between Estonia and Finland.
@TheLemminkainen Maybe but at beginning karelia,St Peterburg area ,Estonia was populated with only finno-Urgric tribes. Slavic people came at tough those areas. Russian stories remember tribe called Chudes from that time
Russian from nothern-west have very finno-ugric genes. Even they speak slavic language, genetically they are finno-ugric. (Leningradskaya, Pskov, Tver)
Please do something to save all Finnic languages. I am from Greece and I am a fan of Finnic languages. Finnic languages re my favorite. Teach your language to your chlidrens. Promote it.
+Vojak3 I was once googling for something else, and I noticed the excerpt of an article where it stated that Putin has yDNA haplgroup N1c. But the actual article didn't exist anymore, so I wasn't able to confirm it. So based on that it's certainly possible.
+Wild Hunt Trumpeter If he is a northwest Russian, then he is of Finnic origin. Before the slavs came, the area was inhabited by finnic tribes like Merya, meschera and muromians. They were the people who became slavicised and created the modern Northwest russians. In fact, Northwest russians are closer genetically to the Finno-ugric estonians than they are to their "slavic brethren".
Дак надо знать родной язык. А если с детства два-три языка родные, больше хорошего в голову вмещается. Новые связи в мозге. А Вы учите хоть китайский, если вепсский неродной и пользы в оном не усматриваете.
