As Aussies(well, my wife's originally a Brom), we both love 'Vera', and it's the highlight of our weekend viewing when it's on. Also enjoy 'Shetland' too. The Brits just seem to do excellent tv crime dramas. So much better than Aussie and American tv.

Vera series is an absolute beautiful change frm d usual american ways of detectives filled wth half naked women, lusts and murders. Vera has one to follow along and solve d crime together. CONGRATULATIONS to you Ann, Brenda and d rest of d crew

I absolutely adore Ann Cleeves writing! The Vera Stanhope series is so engaging to me. I love Brenda Blethyn as Vera, the stories and scenery. I get so excited when a new series begins and disappointed and sad when I am done and know I have to wait for another year to watch again. I’m in USA and I love detective mystery series from UK. I enjoy reading and viewing stories from another prospective different than my own. I hope Ann continues to write Vera, that Brenda continues to be in the role of Vera and that they are filmed for tv.

Brenda, “reading” , sounded like “Vera”. I have enjoyed “Vera”, a lady, my age. There are so many turns, I have only figured out the one “who did it once”. British mystery is so much more involved “thinking”.

Brilliant series! Thank you - its one of my favourite shows of all time. Only a Brit can create a truly awesome criminal detective without a lot of shooting and gunfire to support the thin dialog, and get it really right and human.
