E questo sarebbe Rigoletto? Povero Verdi! Uno strazio, inguardabile per le scenografie e i costumi fuori luogo e tempo,e inascoltabile per i cantanti....
J'ai beaucoup de mal avec les mises en scène contemporaines et surtout celle de l'Opera de Paris qui pour la plupart du temps dénaturent l'œuvre par leur vulgarité, mais je trouve celle- ci intéressante et en phase avec le livret. Pour ce qui est des interprétations, elles sont toutes d'un très bon niveau même si j'ai du mal à oublier Natalie Dessay qui à tenue le rôle plus de 500 fois. Merci pour ce partage et je trouve les commentaires qui me précèdent très injustes.
Faut virer la nouvelle direction de l'opéra de Paris. Avant on avait encore de belles mises en scènes. Le Faust tournait pendant des décennies. Le nozze di Figaro aussi. Et le public était au rendez-vous et en redemandait. Maintenant ils gaspillent l'argent des contribuables, une honte.
@@isabellaury38 Because it uglifies the whole opera, which features talented people, but I'm sorry, I can't stand to look at these modernized versions. If they want to save money that badly, don't even bother to put on an opera in the first place.
I like this very much, the singers, conductor, and the staging. But then again, I liked the Met’s Vegas production too. Rigoletto is so popular, it would be boring to see the same staging every time. I laugh whenever says Verdi (or any composer) would roll over in their grave. Save the drama for the stage, not the pearl-clutching.
I know a bit about opera and have taken part as a chorus member in some. I think the vocal performance in this production is superb. And it is exceeding clever for the producer to add the second Rigoletto to reflect the inner person.
The voices are good. The rest is too much for me to sit through. Sorry, but I cannot stand this modernization of beautiful operas. What's with all this mucking about with costumes and bringing the sets down to virtually nothing but a bare stage? This is unattractive, cheap looking, ruins the whole ambience. Didn't Verdi write stage instructions as well as the music?Maybe we could have 2 versions of opera now: those for the people who like this new style, and others for people who like opera the way it used to be: beautiful, without some director's idea on how to "improve" on what was already perfect.
