Vermillion - Bob Ross Mountain Lake Step By Step Painting Tutorial In Virtual Reality

Welcome to my virtual studio! Today we will be doing a Bob Ross landscape depicting a mountain lake and forest using Vermillion. I am using the Oculus Quest 2, but you can use any VR headset that has Vermillion available on it!
If you have any questions while painting, feel free to comment below and I'll do my best to answer you as soon as possible!

Some great tips Brian. Next Vermillion video please zoom into the painting (vs studio view) so we can see your technique, I'm struggling with brush control even with the stabilizer on. Also looking for layering techniques and watercolor-type effects using the paint thinner. I'll check in from time to time--thank you!

Hello, nice tutorial! Why u first make white color on canvas? Why u dont directly paint on canvas? Im not artist ... Thank you for answer.

It is what they call liquid white. It helps with blending and making smooth background colours. It is a technique Bob Ross uses.

Great Video Brian, I've always wanted to paint a Bob Ross style Painting and now I have. For future videos I was wondering if you could keep your final product visible in one of the corrors out of the way. that way i can see what I'm working towards. Ether way you earned my sub.

I'm sorry you're having troubles. There should be a green circle in the middle when you start. You have to hold your hand on it for a few seconds to get the canvas up. If there isn't the green circle in the middle when you start, try going on the menu on the side, hit the tab that looks like a save icon, then click new painting. If that still doesn't work, you might need to reinstall.

Hi there. I just got the quest 2 and this app seems fascinating. But I’m wondering, how are we able to launch the app and this RU-vid video at the same time to paint along? Thank you for any help you can offer. 🙏

There is an in-game browser that you can use that has RU-vid built in. Or if you click on the star in the top right corner, and then click paint-along, you will find "Paint-along with Brian Sloan" as an option. My whole playlist of step-by-step tutorials will then show up.

Thank you so much for the response. I don’t actually have the game yet but intend to get it soon. This info will be very helpful as I try to learn and navigate around in it. I’ll probably hop back here if I have any other questions, if that’s okay and you don’t mind helping. Lol. I was thinking since you touch on how to use it properly I will start with your video too. And out of curiosity, will the in game browser allow me to watch Bob Ross RU-vid painting vidros to paint along with him? Thats my ultimate goal.

You're welcome! Feel free to ask any questions you have. Yes, you can access just regular RU-vid so you can watch Bob Ross as well. Sometimes I"ll just turn on music through RU-vid when I play just to listen to music while I paint.

There is an export button on the side menu (I think it's the arrow if I remember right). It will give you options to export to Facebook, and other places. Try that and let me know if you got it!

I see you cant feel pressure so its hard to blend.. I think controllers could vibrate based how hard pressed on canvas or palette..

They do vibrate when pressing against the canvas! Definitely makes it feel more realistic.

With a Mixed Reality Capture app on the Quest and the Reality Mixer app on my iPhone. I plug that into my computer and record on OBS.

Great video,I have it on steam but have just bought a quest 2 do I have to rebuy or can I move it onto my quest as a stand alone to save me sitting next to my pc and sit in another room-ty
