@@SidRulz100 In fact I got their rousing support and had the video shared on their personal twitter profiles, they have been very chill about it. Big kudos to the team, they've been helpful As for the models, I used a modified umodel version found on Gildor Forums that supports Unreal Engine 5.1. From there I extracted the models
Must have taken a long ass time, kudos! In my case, I extracted the entire map as an .obj file from the game's SDK (basically from the game engine, needed a patch that increases RAM limit), then umodel to extract textures. The entire map is a single mesh with all the right materials named and attached, so it was only a matter of applying textures, one by one. Totally worth it in the end
@@Janfon1 That sounds a lot easier than what I did, I was more modelling it out a learning process but I'm still glad with what I have in the end. I've seen other mappers export maps from other games as models and then mapping on top of them to get the closest scale possible, but I would rather eyeball it and force myself to make decisions. Great video looking forward to see what else comes from you!
It would have been fun yeah there are still some major roadblocks when it comes to extraction of models and textures, so sadly I never compiled and made any animation-ready rejects. The poxwalkers and groaners were lucky finds to say the least
I had this discussed with a friend - if I had more fitting voice lines their introduction would be more pronounced. AI would sound cheap for an emotional moment like that and I didn't have any episodes to source adequate lines from. Not for Bardin either They got out of the blast zone alive and by working together, sadly rest must be left to imagination
Been honored by Sigmar for being able to watch the beta version. You guys are gonna love this, trust me. No matter how much you are already expecting by the trailers and the sneak peeks I assure you there's MORE. If you don't come out of this session with a lack of oxygen by laughing real hard, I don't trust you as a person, you're a nurglite or tzeentchian in disguise. Janfon is an incredibly talented person and also one of the best friends i've had the honor to have in my life. One day you'll see his nickname or real name in the credits of a big screen animation and hope you all remember where he started.
Honestly, all of the multi game shared meta-narrative that Bunige used to be up to with Pathways/Martathon/Myth feels like it would be right up Tzeentch's alley, I bet my lucky pair of underwear he got a hold of the heads from Hangar 96 and sold the skulls to Khorne or some shit
Janfon is an utter gift to this community. I also love how he has obvious knowledge of MLP and uses it for something beyond "lol pony cringe." TTS, Payday, Killing Floor, and many more. A delightful fever dream of the best possible kind. Thanks a million for everything!
If someone had told me somebody could crossover Vermintide with My Little Pony and MAKE IT WORK, I would have deemed him insane and a heretic -like any true follower of Sigmar. And yet here we are... and it is glorious ! I tip my hat to this totally unexpected act of pure genius, humor and madness. ... And leaving us with the promise of a DRG crossover ? What a time to be alive, can't wait for Janfon to Rock our Stones !
He-Man and Warhammer goes along perfectly when you know that the story starts off with a buff, half-naked dude who regularly fights a skeleton sorcerer
Actual Bardin would eat Sunny, he canonically ate Lohner's donkey, a gifted pedigree pony and Kerillian's horse. Maybe it's different because she's dressed up as azumgi, who knows lol
As someone who worked on TTS-- the whole Sigmar bit *and* Saltz' phone call to the Emperor really made me smile. Thank you, Janfon. This is a masterpiece.
To clarify, I've extracted the models myself using AssetStudio, then rigged using the Make Your Pony project files by JayPasta. I did find the repository and the Misty model, it was wonderfully done! I wonder what the upcoming game will have to offer in terms of assets
I return to say THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THE MODELS HOLY SHIT I dug around and found out you extracted models from the iOS game, I'm very excited to animate some more stuff now! Thank you so much
@@Janfon1 Oh ya welcome! I'm glad ya like the mane merge IOS models! Can't wait to see what you're going to do with those models! I also uploaded a video sharing all of my G5 stuff! I included a lot of maps and models there. Sometimes there might be tiny errors lol also I'm surprised that you used JayPasta's rigging on Sunny model cuz that's what i've been trying to do but I suck at it loll
Amongst all of the crazy crossovers and hilarious references, there is something so simple and delightful about that after credits bar fight scene. Bardin's and Sunny's singing, Kerillian's goofy ass laugh, Kruber straight up just taking a nap and drunk Saltzpyre. The animation really captures what makes these characters special (yes, even the pony)
@@admiralpepper6933There is an unused idea I had that related to the rot, the pony was going to cast a protective shield that would push all the flies away. Didn't make it in sadly, they just walk through the place like it's nothing
All the little references are amazing, and 1-1 accuracy Frollo Show bro poses made me grin. This whole animation reminded me of Team Fabulous 2, so chaotic and creative using characters people love. Really good work, keep churning out masterpieces.
I was surprised beyond belief to see someone recognize it live on premiere, you think there'd be no overlap betwen The Frollo Show audience and Vermintide 2, yet here we are lol Cheers
Mount and Blade isn't a coop PvE game per se like the rest of the games here, but a horse riding segment wouldn't be the same without it Also it's the one game with well designed hoof sounds, so it worked out perfectly
I know, right? I recognized it instantly, so quickly in fact, that I thought it was just my mind playing tricks on me (same as with the faint "Rock and stone!"), but then I saw the village roofs and knew that I was right.
@@Janfon1 For a second I wasn't sure if it's your animation or if some madman made an MLP mod for Warband... but yeah, too many polygons for that to be actual MB:W. Thanks for adding the music, the joke hasn't been lost on (some of) us, and it's much appreciated. Also, this was pro-level, great work, sifu.
That He-Man/Masters of the Universe bit made me chuckle so much. I'm honestly impressed at how high effort it actually looks for something so minimalistic. I remember praising Siena's Lip Sync in the Ubersreik 5 getting drunk video, but your facial expressions are amazing too. That old guy's face was so incredibly expressive to the point I was I had to repeat tge scene a couple of times to catch what the team was talking about due to how his expressions kept catching my attention.
In that same scene, every character has a different reaction to Kerillian getting teleported: - Bardin reaches out for his axe - Sunny recoils in shock, but is fascinated immediately after - Saltzpyre facetanks the blast and barely even flinches - Kruber covers his eyes - Olesya already knew what was going on and is staring down the old man
The shot at 25:47 - 25:53 looks so dang professional and cinematic. Not to mention the whole thing already being absolute gold! Fantastic work! Also love Saltz's peaceful approach at 12:00 - 12:21. Good to see the man smile.
Despite the Janfon brony self-report (jk, still love your channel regardless), this was one of the most enjoyable animations I've seen this year, your ability to make the characters feel so human is almost unparalleled, for example, Masterson's little shrug after killing all the Zeds. The gags were great too, basically the entire Payday guard section was hilarious and so true to the game.
Always imagined Masterson as a smug smeghead (in an endearing way), so getting to portray him with full facial animation was a real treat. I had an idea to animate the masks of the Payday gang, but settled on just their gestures instead Like with the Vermintide cast, main goal is to give the characters a cinematic spotlight, a chance to see them talk and evoke emotions that the game won't. I'm very happy to see my efforts are believable and widely enjoyed ❤
22:15 did anyone else notice Olesya almost immediately noticed where the magic that activated the map came from? Edit: had to fix my dumbass spelling of her name.
I find it nice and funny that Bardin always runs into friendly beings at every crossover he goes through, while Saltzpyre runs into various discomforts on his travels. (First with a brat sailing in a boat and now with equine beings from a childrens cartoon) A great crossover episode Janfon!... This definitely deserves to have more views
honest to god floored by this i was expecting like, a repeat of last time? like, 10-15 minutes of funny haha references to other games, bit of style in them, but ultimately just another silly, well-animated thing... ...but now i'm getting this mix of early SFM and genuine tribute and homage to other artists 'n entirely different shows? like sigmar on a sea vessel that WHOLE TTS SECTION was genuinely goddamn awesome, had me chuckling the whole time. the he-man/mythforce scene with the awkward framerate, obviously-made-to-be-copy-pasted walk cycles, the use of (cel-shading? i think?) in order to make 3d models fit into it better, and the essential 'i've got a bone to pick with you'.. just, holy shit man, genuine face-hurting smile there plus the blending of horror, action, and humor is unexpectedly good! the intro, killing floor, and darktide section, along with that little section with bardin and the pony didn't feel like a 100% silly haha, it was impressive to watch and see how you managed to transplant these characters into these new settings without having it be one giant laugh or one giant fight scene. props for that especially just feels like an honest expression of love for properties that early sfm / gmod kinda had, where- sure, there's my little pony in it, the gags can be sorta strange, and you have NO idea what sane mind managed to combine certain games together, but.. it just, it's earnest. the characters are kept to (while admittedly fanon-ly exaggerated) their own personalities, and feel like exploration of silly ideas like 'what if we put the elf in payday 2' that end up wonderfully executed this is a BUNCH of random words all to say that this is probably one of your best works so far- i hesitate to call it a magnum opus though, cause i'm sure there's definitely better shit to come now can you animate kruber giving bir
Bless you, feedback like this is what I remember for years to come ❤ And yes, it's obvious I grew up on Gmod and SFM animations. Always yearned to make sth of the same kind. Well, so I did, in a unique way lol Thanks again
Very happy to see the "unique" crossover you chose went over well! Great job, Janfon. It's been a *time* seeing all the theories and having known the truth the whole time lol
Lots of amazing things here as always Janfon. Seeing Killing Floor in a fanimation is amazing and I absolutely adore how at home Kruber feels in it too. I absolutely love the Darktide part with Saltzpyre being peak Grimdark goodness. From the atmosphere the noises and the action. I also love how you made Sunny into a Sororitas too that was funny.
I've seen this project take shape over time, and seeing the culmination blows me away. I can't praise your work enough, Janfon, and I am ecstatic to have been a part of your amazing journey.
I had no idea what was going on throughout this whole video. But I was referred to this video because of a certain crossover... And as someone who worked on the rigging and animation from the game that Sunny model came from, I found this whole thing VERY amusing LOL
DJTHEEEED MY KING it's so great to see you watched it! So many dreams coming true today, I can't believe it Sunny only looks as well as she does because of your work, great work ❤
@@Janfon1 Yeah the work done with the AMBA models is really solid considering that everyone who uses these extracted models have to construct their own rigging constraints from scratch! I imagine seeing a lot more bones in the exported model than expected can scare a lot of people away from trying anything too serious with them (especially if they see the crime against humanity that is the wing skeleton I constructed LOL). Wouldn't surprise me if most people would opt to redo the skeleton and weighting. Obviously I wouldn't be able to help much in regards to providing access to the original source rigs or anything, but if you had some general questions on how I generally rig things that could possibly help your understanding more on these models, I'd be happy to answer! And also if you're rendering all these out in Blender Eevee, I might also have some pointers to improve the rendering of the manes and tails, as I can tell they're casting tons of potentially undesirable shadows, weird shading, and not really reflecting light in the most satisfying way.
I don't have a twitter account, we could talk this out on discord or over mail maybe? My discord is notfuegonasus & mail is notfuegonasus@gmail.com I had some trouble with the hair as I tried to reverse engineer the shiny saturated look using only the lackluster textures from the game files. I settled on using a Glossy shader to carry most of the look, but I'd appreciate it if you gave me more pointers As for the rigging, I implanted the models into the rig of Make Your Pony by JayPasta. I found his rigging of the hooves & face fairly easy to use and flexible + it fit like a glove on the game models, even though for the majority of the animation I used the mesh's shape keys. There's only so much I can describe with text, so you know
That was absolutely fantastic. Ponies have had crossover content with Warhammer many times and it always fits extremely well. People who aren't fans of both like I am never expect it to fit, so they're always really impressed when it does. The animation here is incredibly smooth, and I love how you imitated the style of He-Man for that sequence. Brilliant work.
This gave me the dopamine I needed to sleep peacefully, I thank you for the hilarious memories to take into my dreams. Absolutely insanely proud of this dude, I knew you were talented and driven, but this takes the mf cake in Vermintide Love. With 1070 hours in Vermintide 2, your channel is probably my favorite given my crippling addiction to slaying Ratmen and purifying heretics for the Emperor.
There are still some major roadblocks when it comes to extraction of models and textures, so sadly I never compiled and made any animation-ready rejects. The poxwalkers and groaners were lucky finds to say the least
This is the best piece of media I think I am going to ever experience. Thank you. From the bottom of my heart. I can't imagine the work you put into this.
Just had a strong vision and the time to make it, that's all. I'm sure if the time windows, budget and execs allowed it, every episode of Make Your Mark could have been its own visual masterpiece, but it is what it is
If you told me that someone is insane enough to make a crossover of payday 2, tts, vermintide, my little pony, killing floor and darktide with the promise of a drg for the next one I would either call you insane or the world has gone insane yet here we are with this crockpot of a masterpiece that makes me love it to bits, fantastic work Janfon
This was exceptionally made. I loved how this had them go through different environments and worlds. I especially liked how Sunny was with the group. Her friendship with the dwarf was really charming as well as the last scene at the dinner table and the epilogue. It reminded me a bit of the earlier 2010's when a lot of these kind of animations were around. That and some good ol' fanfics of the two worlds. So it was nice to see that. Maybe others could join the party as well.
Holy hell the sheer amount of effort that went into this is insane. I especially lost it during the speed dial to Sigmar and the subsequent threats/conversation between Sigmar and Tzeentch. Well done, man.
This the most genius bit of fan-animated content I have seen in my entire existence on this Earth. Amazing Janfon. If I ever become extremely rich one day I'm just gonna send you half of it
Great work, as always. Combining one of the most terrifying, horrendous, depressing and gruesome settings in such a perfect and seamless way with Warhammer - you must have a talent. Congratulations, Janfon! Great Horned One approves.
You don't disappoint, Janfon. With the time and effort you've put into this project, I know it's going to be incredible. You're an amazing and hilarious animator.
Won't lie, despite not liking G5 as much as the last generation, I didn't expect Sunny of all Ponies to mix with the Ubersreik 5 so well. Now I'm hoping she'd make a return in the next Fanimated.
Killing floor, my little pony, warhammer 40k darktide, payday and he-man universes united, amazing work as always dawri. ❤ In the future I wish to animate as good as you.
Now I can surely say that mr favourite character in MLP is fooking Saltspyre. And Sunny Starscout is probably best character in Warhammer universe(s?). Incredably good animation!
Happy you noticed it! I thought that Kruber would be used to the impact of gunpowder, but hearing modern weapons for the first time would probably/definitely make him flinch. He handles the deagle fine later in the vid though
