one thing i have to say as a critique to this great series: im very tempted to speed the video to 1.25x speed just to move through everything you talk about a little quicker. unfortunately, i would ruin the sound quality in doing that, so im stuck feeling pretty impatient when i want you to move on to another knob and finish up talking about another. But other than the pacing, this video series is amazingly detailed and has ultimately given vermona my money (not lying. its shipped.) and your voice is super calming

I think it's probably just my IRL demeanour coming through - I do tend towards verbosity (that's probably the most verbose sentence I've ever written!). Stoked that I've helped you decide to pick up the DRM1. It's a beautiful machine - at once really solid, whilst still having tonnes of character. You're going to love it!
Pacing is perfect. He has ADD. ;) I speed up videos sometimes too but you don’t have any filler or the usual silences/ummms/aaahs that many other RU-vidrs have. Everything you said added to the demonstrating.
I'm having trouble setting up the closed HHs. I have a Drum Rack in Ableton. Ext. Instruments on the pads. MIDI to my MIDISPORT connected to the Vermona. Each Ext. Instrument has a different Channel in the MIDI To except the HHs. Two MIDI notes are assigned for HHs but they are both open. What am I doing wrong?
If you've assigned the notes for each sound yourself, the closed hihat sound is two semitones below whatever the open sound is. See page 18 and 19 of the manual for more details.
I struggle with them - watching this for some tips. Let me know if you have any good recipes! Also the multi I struggle with - the rest of the channels are amazing. Prefer the hats on the Mode Machines adx1 which is based on an early unit the DRM1 evolved from - the MAM adx1 - it's kick are abysmal though!
