O'l Vern could pull them heart strings and bring a tear to your eyes . . . That's straight up country music when a singer can do that to you . . . The voice . !!!!
This is real Country music, and there are still a lot of us left that still buy this music. Traditional Country will live forever, and so will the memories of the great entertainers who sang their hearts out for their fans. Long Live Traditional Country Music!
Last year I was at Bristol for the spring race. In the campground, about 4-5 spots down a fella had a Jerry-rigged stereo speaker system set up. He was feeling no pain, if you know what I’m saying. Lol. He was playing Vern, George, Conway and Gene Watson. I was watching TV outside my Motorhome. I just turned off my TV and sat there. I spent the rest of the night polishing off a fifth of Jack Daniels and listening to some of the best Country music ever produced. My only regret is I didn’t go over and thank him and shake his hand!
Miss this music so much. Thank God we can watch & listen here. 'Miss those old days. 'Miss the kind of people that turned me on to this music. Vern is THE VOICE ... He earned that. Young people ... enjoy some real talent Here ya go...
A very distinct voice that possessed real emotion that people felt and related to. Ol Vern was the elite in country music and always will be in my book.

I met Vern in 1988 by his bus outside of a hotel next to what is now Buck Owen’s Crystal Palace. My friends who were with me had no idea why I was so excited to meet him. Little did they know they were standing in the presence of “The Voice.”
The way he looks around at the audience with so much sincerity in his eyes seems like he is telling them about his personal struggles, that man could really deliver.
What a great voice a great person one of the real personalities He is greatly missed the only other person that can sing Like that is the man George Jones two of the greatest ever
