I discovered this a few months ago and shared it with the man I have loved for 44 yrs. We decided it was our new, old song. He started having health problems soon after and passed away last week. So thankful we shared this song. Good night BE. Sleep well. Always and forever. Till the End. ❤🙏
Great duet. Janie Fricke should have a special area set aside in the country music hall of fame. She is a great singer and, probably, the best harmonist to ever record.
Probably the BEST upbeat / slow love song ever recorded. Usually a dramatic melody like this would be a much slower tempo, but this worked. Haunting and emotional
Oh how I love this man's voice, I could have his music around me 24-7 and never tire of hearing him. It makes me cry to hear him sing this, hope he had a true love that made him happy.
I loved this song since the 70's during college days it reminds me of friends taking up nursing in our place from the cordilleras, Mountain Province, Philippines.
this what u call country music ...i want to thank u for sharing it .....keep them coming i love this music ...this music this cant hold i candle to this oldies
A beautiful Vern Gosdin vocal so well complemented by the fabulous Janie Fricke. She has always been willing to lend her incredible voice on harmonies for so many male singers, and everytime she does it makes for an incredible record!
Since I lost my wife , my sweetheart . I play this song and their recording of Never my Love, almost every night . It’s been 279 days but who is counting
What a fantastic song. Lyrics and music. The first time I heard this song I loved it. Delivered by two of the very best legends. This is country music at the very best. I play this song on 10 plus. Will send to my friends to enjoy too. Much thanks.❤
Well...this is a very new one to me! Nonetheless,it is a little "gem" discovered..or rather, gifted by you,Mark! Thank you for introducing me to some lovely songs over recent months..some I already know well but re-done in different ways, thereby making them "new listening" and others that are complete "originals" for me in that I've never heard them before. This is one of those and it has that tone here in this video of years gone by but it takes nothing away from the fact that it is a very lovely song with equally lovely lyrics. A very meaningful duet. Karen.
Great song ! Type in "Ron Howard cover" listen to Opie sing "The Dance"! To all of us who have lost loved ones "Life goes that fast, and we will see them again that soon"! R.I.P. Vern you truly earned the title "The Voice"!
If I never see your loving face again I'll go on loving you till the end And if my broken hearted love don't find a way to mend I'll go on loving you till the end. The years and miles may separate you from me The pain may lessen more as time goes by But as for me memories will never fade And I'll go on loving you till the end. If we're ever free to love again I know Straight to your waiting arms is where I'll go And there's I'll stay forever and I'll prove to you again I'll go on loving you till the end. I'll go on loving you till the end...
In 1982 Ms Janie performed at the Miss National teenager pagent in Lehigh Fla. My wife and I had dinner with her at the famous HUT resturant. She was very kind. I was the MARINE recruiter in the area.
He wasn't a good friend of my brother and he would come down to Mississippi and stay at his home I live next door also I drove coachs out of Nashville. He wasn't a good man.and a great voice.
Hate to disappoint you, but the female voice in this vid sounds like Janie to me. But Emmylou did duet with Vern on at least one different song, "Yesterday's Gone" (not the Chad & Jeremy hit) as I've learned from sampling the vids in the sidebar.
@savannah15946 Vern had the kind of voice he could harmonize with the worst singer out there and make them sound good. It was a Loss to country music when very passed away.. RIP VERN
