Bro they loook like they fuck wit gp so they don’t wanna laugh an be extra about it….why tf would they be scared of him telling a story ??? What streets have yal been in where u can mistake this for fear
I used to live in Houston and one day, my buddy and I were in line for crawfish at the Ragin' Cajun on Richmond, not far from the Summit where the Rockets played at the time. Who walks in right behind us, but Max. He was all by himself, didn't need some big entourage, just grabbing a bite on his way home like a normal dude. We showed him some love, complementing him on his last game, and he was just as gracious, chill, and down to earth as could be. Of course, he'd pulled up in the parking lot in his plum purple Porsche, so it's not like he didn't have his style, and I wouldn't wanna be on his bad side. But he was as friendly and humble that day as any NBA star could've been. The next year, he and the Rockets beat the Knicks in the finals.
@charlesredd9619 Countless others stories of him running his mouth and doing nothing? Dudes like you are clearly easily fooled. You're the type that gets scared when other men start wolfing.
@@brittanywilson9361it’s crazy how most people can’t see past that fake ass act he be putting on. Dude don’t even talk that talk right fr. Real ones know. Sound like a white boy tryna talk hood
Best Guest ever , I had his Houston Jersey in Ireland got it out here as a kid in my Uncles in Boston, he destroyed Jordan one game in 93 or 94 , he was a unbelievable player , Elite!!!

Vernon was a beast. He took no bs. 😳😳. We need more old players on here to tell their stories. We Love hearing them stories. John Salley stories was dope too
I'm only 2min and 43 seconds in, but I heard Kenny Smith say a few years back Maxwell was a man of his word, if he said he was going to karate kick you twice in your leg, he would attempt exactly that lol..Just finished watching, bro Maxwell still wanna fight over GP potentially lying lol
@@micahbinns2740 of course GP is lying. GP claimed he got fined $200k, although neither Sonics, nor NBA fined the incident. And in 00s, fights usually got 5-10k fines and were maxed at 50k in rulebook. GP is known to be a BS talker, not Horace Grant or Vernon Maxwell... 😅🤯😂😎
We absolutely MUST hear the GP side to THIS story......thats on The Bay!! Especially because Max STILL presently doubling down claiming he would whoop GP ass today!! THATS wild!!💯😱
GP's side? We all know GP is the biggest talker in nba history, full of exaggerations, hyperbole and stories. Whatever he says is funny but BS. We could ask Horace Grant since he was there and is a no-nonsense guy... 😮😅😂
@@julienb571 GP said, he himself got fined for hitting Horace with a dumbbell. Why ask Horace that, if GP isn't honest? What has GP said, that isn't true?
@@penkima4923 because horace grant was present and could testify. Both gp and maxwell claim to have hit grant with a dumbbell. But mad max is more believable as a thug and gp as the talker. Funny fact, no one got fined by Sonics or NBA, but GP claims he got fined $200k for injuring Grant... 200k is a crazy fine amount, avg fight fine was $5-10k and max was $50k 🤕😬😅😂
He sounds just as crazy and hotheaded 20+ years later since his career ended as when he played. 😂😂 Only other guy as volatile as MadMax was Xavier McDaniels. Crazy that GP was teammates of both guys. Xavier almost choked GP unconscious 😂
theyre not alike glove is a bluffer and a bully, max is really w it they look alike bc bluffers and bullies pretend to be real and ngaf, but they never mix once theyre in the same place bc theres nothing the real ones hate more than a bluffer and a bully and theres nothing that scares the bluffers and bullies more than a real one
@@jeffreyopoku-darko2830sure a bully but calling one of the best defensive guards of all time a “bluffer” is corny asf. Did you ever meet him in person ? He was literally one of my neighbors in seattle for years and he was most def not a bluffer. You think you know him like that just from what you see online 😂 ya aight
Nothing alike. No real cat who is truly about that action talks as much as Payton did. Those of us who really ARE more fearful of ourselves and what we might do to cats like that KNOW they ain't alike.
What do you gotta think twice about? GP is a legend in Seattle and the NBA. He backed up his game and became one of the best defensive PGs ever. I don't care about no gangster street isht when it comes to the NBA 😂
@@PuppetMa5teRYou nerds, just don't get it.Gary payton was a great player but he also was a coward in disguise who ran his mouth to everyone but never backed it up
@@seansmith7462 GP was a great player and is known for his yapping. Funny that ppl trust his storytelling when he is the goat of talkers. He claimed he got fined $200k when neither the Sonics nor the NBA fined the incident. And in 00s, fights were fined 5-10k max, never 200k. Just nonsense from Uncle Gary 😉😅😂😁
NOOOO yall I am old enough to remember watching both Mad Max and K mar.....Mad Max was scary , He really had a problem with woopin folks asses during games , practice, meetings, victory parades n shit , you knew what kinda time he was on ..Mad Max was one of one ...
I heard this story from another podcast first… clearly things have changed between him and GP. He made sure to do his best to protect Garys name on the other pod. Here he still wants smoke!
I'm not from Houston but Ive read several comments online from people that lived there during his time as a Rocket home after games Vernon was known to go to the hood and shoot dice on the corner with random people for hours.😂😂
