This ride is part three of a ride filmed on 2023.09.09 in which Bruce and I head out to Cathlamet, WA and then back across the Columbia river on the Oscar B Ferry up into the western side of the coastal mountain range to Vernonia, OR and then south along state route 47 to Forest Grove, OR.
In this video we ride 28 miles from Vernonia, OR to Forest Grove, OR and we pass through Banks, OR. At Forest Grove we stop at the McMenamins Grand Lodge before we head back into Portland. I include a small part of the ride after Grand Lodge where we travel along state route 8 from Forest Grove to Cornelius, OR.

Has the gearbox/gear selector problem ever been sorted out on the bonneville models either by the replacement of the gear sellector or in recent years of manufacture [if so then when] in such a way that the issue won't reoccure?

After reading your comment I had to Google the gear box failure because I had not heard about gear box issues. I'm riding a 2020 T120. I've put 10,000 miles on it. So far it is a great ride. When I saw this bike I fell in love with the style and the color scheme. When I rode this bike during the test ride I did not want to get off of it. I may encounter mechanical issues at some point, but so far, aside from the bike needing a yearly headlamp replacement and the turn signal indicators on the tachometer being a little weak in direct sunlight the bike has been a dream. Hopefully if I do experience gear box failure in the future Cascade Moto Triumph here in Portland will be able to repair it. Until then I am going to keep on riding. I should add that when I bought this bike I understood that I was not buying Japanese reliability. I bought the bike with an eye to putting a lot more miles on this bike than I did on my previous bike. But I bought this bike because I wanted an authentic riding experience with some character. And Triumph delivered that in spades with this model and with the Bonneville line since its inception.
