Great interview. Veronica was a very articulate woman. The league of Ireland footballer spoken about here, must be the same guy that CAB went after, in the aftermath of Veronica's death? I can't remember his name, I think he was connected to The Penguin? He was the 1st guy CAB successfully prosecuted?
What a great woman she was. Veronica Guerin should be the role model Irish people should look up to. Never be in fear to speak out about wrong doing. Never be in fear of a bully, call them out on it, their lies will hit them hard. Stand tall, stand strong. 👊
One very brave lady,highlighted a lot of Dublin criminals in her stories, did not deserve the death she got. Unfortunately this country waits for a tragic event to occur to respond. Rest in peace .

Why anyone thinks they are in a position to criticise this woman's choices is beyond me. She seemed like a warm intelligent, funny and very sharp lady with huge bravery, and she paid the ultimate price, how can anyone sit and judge that? It's pathetic.
All I’ve seen is people calling her courageous. But I know there’s a type of person who always considers courage a form of stupidity, so surely that can explain what you’re seeing
@@animula6908exactly, people have different opinions and that it. Her son grew up without a mother, some people will feel the extent of her actions where too much. Think about the drug problems and crime today in Ireland . You get one life

She had more balls than most men in Ireland. Commendable that she wanted to rid Ireland of the dregs of society, the absolute worst of pond life that exists there.

I know about her story when i was a kid, (thx to movie) and since then never forget about. For my granny she's like a woman who made a tank (am Russian), for me she is Veronica Guerin.

@Mick G she was shot and beat up multiple times by serious gangsters. Warned by Garda her life was under threat. Told directly by criminals they were gona kill her. Obv she took no heed because her job was too important
The right to remain silent and be the sole arbiter of who you choose to speak to is a God given right; the impudence of this woman to think that Government bureaucrats could take that right away from people. When the Gilligan gang went out of business in the late 90's, there was a Cannabis shortage in Ireland which resulted in a hugh increase in people taking hard drugs, that's what REALLY happend, that was her actual legacy and the net result of her efforts.

Everyone dies. Being a cowards won’t make you live forever. And some people just can’t live like cowards. You’re lucky that you can. You should have more sympathy for the lady from all the sorrows it caused her not being able to crawl around on her knees like you do.

I’d say not a brave woman as much as a silly woman. The dangers where very real, she had a son and she should have let the police do their own work . There’s no reward for getting killed, only loss and pain.
Did you watch the movie? The police had no powers to do anything and they were continuing to kill kids with their drugs. She was a very brave lady by getting the truth out and then the public eventually took action after her death.
If she wasn't intent on becoming famous, off the back of stories, she would still be alive. Writing stories about these animals then appearing on television, isn't a very intelligent decision.
