I've seen Robert Garcia using these mitts with his fighters before. A very cool concept for mitts and seems good for protecting the trainers hands as well.

Great review Simon. Versa mitts is a bit of a legend in long standing Gyms in America. We have a pair that's twenty years old and still holds up. I agree with you that the HitNmove Turtle is the furthest away from the Versamitt as it doesn't function as a body protector at all although it's marketed that way with outrageous claims. Good you cited Versamitts patent and hope you restate that when HitNMove starts selling the new double sided mitt that copies the Versamitt even more flagrantly. Patent law is there for a reason so we will see what happens when that release comes out. Thanks for sharing this product.

Coach Simon. As I mentioned before. I just started boxing again at 40. Do you have a recommendation for 18 oz Velcro bag/training gloves? The Phenoms are going to be for sparring and are an absolute gem. After about a week and a half. They feel wonderfully broken in. My 16oz Reyes are on their last leg. I like Reyes gloves, but break in can be a pain. So I was hoping there were some options you really liked that meet those specs. As always thanks for the great content. Best boxing gear channel on RU-vid by a landslide. Everything is very well thought out and it’s not just based on what’s popular.

Where are you training? I'm 38 and have put on so much weight since the last time I boxed, I'd love to get back in shape!

@@notme1345I’m training in Wisconsin, USA. I put on a lot of weight in my late 30s and finally decided to do something about it and get back into the sport. I boxed a little in my early 20s when I was in the Army. I even taught for about 8 years before in a boxing class once a week at a local gym. Then I got really lazy. I’ve been training for about 3 weeks and lost about 10 pounds and am starting to build my stamina back up. I told my coach and my wife that getting back into boxing is the best decision I’ve made in the last 10 years next to marrying my wife. With some of my issues from the military. I truly believe it’s a life saver. I talked about doing it again, but it was always just talk. Then I finally talked to my therapist about it and decided to give the gym a call and now I’m hooked. I forgot how fantastic the workout was. I’m having a blast getting beat on by kids 20 years younger than me.
