Ei states that she knew one day she could even become a threat to eternity, which is why she made the puppet. So she knew this time would eventually approach.

I love how it was foreshadowed in previous patches. It gives me a very "sentry vs the void" type feeling if anyone is a fan of marvel. 👍🏾

The only way to avoid it is to activate a weird ball you get that you have to fill with electro energy… so you need to bring an electro character to this fight…

this is probably the start of the end of teyvat (or the celestia era, there might be more stuff coming). mondstadt's four winds (andrius, dvalin) not being the four winds anymore, zhongli signing his last contract, now this eternity thing and ei loosening her ties with celestia.

The puppet is the one wielding the sword, the real ei wields the polearm , but yes seems that puppet shogun goes rogue just like Scaramouche did... Hopefully things will be resolved and Ei survives

It's very likely that it is Ei who's wielding her signature polearm, Engulfing Lighting as we have seen her do in several occasions - the first time we fight her in the Plane of Euthymia, the second time we fight her in the Plane of Euthymia, when she spars with the...uh...Kanjou commision guy in her story quest and in the cutscene about her past. The puppet/Shogun on the other hand pulls out the Musou Isshin sword the first time we meet her, when she annihilates Signora and then when we're about to leave Tenshukaku. Also, we get "both" Ei and the Shogun as playable. The playable unit has lines as both Ei and the Shogun in the voice-over section. Even in the teapot she speaks as Ei.

More like Shogun realizing Ei is changing so she is in conflict with her directives

as everyone else said, ei is the one with the engulfing lightning. she even used that polearm in her story quest when she had a battle with kujou kamaji, remember that it was raiden ei talking all day, not the puppet raiden shogun.
