Incredible comparison that highlights the amazing concertina effect on track of the different cars and driving styles. Thank you once again for taking the time to compile and share this with us all.
Man that fast corner speed really shows how good RB aero was. Teams can gain some place when it's a slow corners but when the fast corner comes RB just launch itself into space.
I have a question I just thought of and maybe you can help explain it to me. How is it you can recreate the track the car line and the car body where they are in relation to the track but yet F1 which has billions of dollars/euros still uses bad camera angles to apply track limit penalties? Is this just a rough interpretation and illustration of the lap or is this the exact data in which the cars actually travels?
it's all about confidence in the corners, razor sharp steering, and keeping his right foot down. Check the onboards: Max doesn't lift in the high-speed corners.
@@ericvandruten i think YOU should watch them again. in the final sector max and george have almost the exact same throttle inputs. he gained the most distance after the final corner into the start finish line, you can see it clearly in this video
@@ericvandruten or just maybe the RB is faster in a straight line since it has less downforce and a great engine? not everything has to be an argument. this isnt f2 in the same exact cars so max isnt just magically miles ahead of everyone else due to skill alone.
@@anthonyapplegate see Peter Windsor's analysis; the RB wás indeed faster through the speed-trap, but only by a couple of kphs. And I agree: Max isn't just magically miles ahead due to skill alone. Nor is he miles ahead "only because of the car".
To my untrained eyes it looks like he doesn't push as hard as george in the mid sector and keeps his tires alive to get a massive lead in the last 3 corners
you can see how that Mercedes still either has very bad engine power or very draggy car or both hopefully it is the drag levels that is very bad as hopefully we at least have hope of another different winner this year in either brazil or Mexico or both possible even Abu Dhabi seen as that you need very good ability to ride the kerbs in quite a lot of corners and red bull is meant to be quite weak in that area also the mixture of slow to medium speed corners should help Mercedes as well
"...you can see how that Mercedes still either has very bad engine power..." Nonsense. It's still the same family of turbo-hybrid V6 that dominated almost unopposed from 2014-2020. The others have caught up, but that doesn't make the Merc bad. Stop huffing on copium.
it's not the engine. Adrian Newey created a formidable package, giving - on average - better grip and aero than others. For other teams, that means they have to use more downforce from the wings to get the same car handling, but that in turn compromises the top speed. Nonetheless, Merc was down by only 5 or 6 kph from RB in the speed trap yesterday.
obviously i meant since 2022 onwards as their straight line speed has been really shit since then compared to other teams you only have to look at the speed traps in a lot of races maybe not so much this year but last year they was terrible in the straights which is the reason why that i said that i don't know if its really bad engine power compared to some other teams or if its the drag levels still being very high like they was last year or what it could even be because of the ride height levels and the bouncing levels etc but whatever it is since 2022 onwards its a fact that Mercedes have always been pretty much on par through the corners but then miles down on the straights just look at this 1 race alone in Qatar if you took the fastest red bull and fastest Mercedes lap time the fastest red bull was almost half a second quicker which is obviously a pretty big amount of time difference but even despite that fact the fastest Mercedes time was almost 1 tenth faster in the middle sector where its mostly low to medium speed corners and no straights while in the 1st and 3rd sectors its mostly fast sweeping corners and long straights so yes the Mercedes must have much higher downforce or drag or worse engine or worse bouncing or even a mix of 2 or more of those things than red bull but the bottom line is that there's no argument to what iam saying as you can clearly see that if not all then at least some of what iam saying is true and that is that Mercedes looks like they are better in the slow to medium speed corners while red bull seem to be massively better in both the fast sweeping corners and the long fast straights @@raymond_rayder
not the car ,the driver can deal with less downforce in the corners and take advantage in the straights ! You can clearly see Max has more understeer in the slowest part of the track (sector 2) and Russel using less track than him .Clearly MV has more confidence and can read the rear of his car better in sector 1 and 3 than the Mercedes driver
@@calgar42k Max is a fantastic driver with the best car, no need to hide it. It doesn't diminish his performance, it's just stating the facts. Hopefully Merc or Ferrari step up their game next year.
Ahh insane how much better RB's accelarate and top speed compare to Merc. Also another huge Qualy for Russel 3rd/4th best car on the grid yet another top3 finish. Well done GR
