Do I need a buffer with max 20 ft cable?
@waynegram8907
@waynegram8907 Год назад
VERTEX, you should put a CANVAS Re-Amp audio transformer circuit inside this buffer interface. I use the CANVA Re amp box Stereo version on the last in the pedalboard chain because it converts low impedance back into high impedance because guitar amplifiers want to see a high impedance signal. Most pedalboard output ports are LOW impedance and the guitar amplifiers input wants to see a HIGH impedance. If you use a buffer pedal as your first in the pedalboard chain you can also use a CANVAS Re amp transformer to convert LOW impedance to HIGH impedance for fuzz face pedals, Ibanez SD-9, Roger Mayer Voodoo, Pedal Pawn Fuzz pedal, etc Try to make a video lesson about this

I'm wondering if this would work with my setup, 3 amps using the Earthquaker Swissthings pedal and my pedalboard? It's kinda a mess of a setup, bright side of things, I have a Cioks power supply kit and Revv G8 in the setup lol
@VertexEffectsInc
@VertexEffectsInc Год назад
It won't act as a 3 way splitter to three amp. You can use for for two amps in stereo or split, but you'd need another splitter earlier on before the interface to use the third output buffer "RETURN" to reach a third amp at the same time.
@charlesb7831
@charlesb7831 Год назад
@@VertexEffectsInc even with the Earthquaker Swissthings wouldn't allow this to work with your box I'm guessing. I was looking at the Radial jd7 injector, but it's quite a bit more then what I need in order to do this. Right now I run the 3rd amp out the mono of my MXR stereo chorus to get it all going and the other 2 amps are out of the Earthquaker Swissthings pedal. The drive pedals and noise gate are all run through loop 1 on the Swissthings and the Stereo chorus is the only thing in loop 2 of the same Swissthings pedal. Maybe it was because I was looking at the diagram of the wet dry wet , that's I think what I was thinking lol. Really appreciate the feedback, you guys have great products!

Are buffers needed for running pedals into a Friedman IR-X? Does it improve overall quality of the sound? Thanks

@sweetwater 7 месяцев назад
Hey, Richard! Great question and thanks for your interest. Whether or not you need a buffer comes down to a number of variables, such as the length of your cables, number of pedals, and whether or not they have true bypass, as well as the impedance of your pedals in some cases. We could help figure out if you would benefit from a buffer pedal or not by going through the setup you have now and what you want to accomplish. Feel free to reach out to myself or your Sales Engineer and we’d be happy to help! Connor Smith, Sweetwater Sales Engineer, (800) 222-4700 ext. 1793, connor_smith@sweetwater.com

Hello! Huge question! Tldr: Will this product allow for two amp (stereo config) + effects loop to/from both amps + use of front of amps' inputs In other words: 4 Cable Method x2 amps I'm in search of a device that is capable of sending my loop from my pedalboard to two different Amplifiers while also being able to send my front of amp signal to both simultaneously. (2 sends and 2 returns for loop to amps, 2 outputs to front of amps inputs I speculate are necessary for this, though I'm not sure what features are needed passed those) I am running stereo amps and would like to do the "4 cable method" for both, which is called also the "7 cable method" when referring to it in stereo setup with two amps One guitar -> One pedalboard with separate effects loop -> Two Amplifiers (using both amps' FX Ins - Outs - AND front of amp Inputs) . This is to share effects from entire pedal board to appropriate sequencing of effects ins-outs to both amps simultaneously without compromising on tone quality, which ruins the sound when delay or reverb is placed in front of the Amplifiers as an example. I hope you are well! Thanks.

Hi, Matt! Thanks for your message, Happy Holidays. The ES8 has a lot of flexibility, seems like a good fit for your situation: www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/ES8--boss-es-8-effects-switching-system Without seeing all the gear, I can’t be more specific. Some may be controlled via MIDI and not in the loops which can then be used for routing. There are products out there that we don’t carry like GigRig, RJM, MorningStar and Musicom that also could work. Please contact us direct with other questions as you have them! Will this act as an effects loop if your amp doesn’t have an effects loop?? Any help is greatly appreciated!
@sweetwater
@sweetwater Год назад
Thanks for your question, hopefully the response is a clear one. The FX loop on this device is to isolate fuzz pedals (or any pedal) that doesn’t work well with a buffer. It doesn’t offer any other advantage for amps without loops onboard. There are devices like the Earthquaker Swiss Things, Analog Alien EPI and EHX Tri Parallel more in line with what I believe you’re asking for. Can you combine the 4 cable method with the fuzz method? Maybe even the split off tuner ?
@sweetwater
@sweetwater Год назад
Hi, Joseph. Doesn’t look like there is a good way to do both methods at the same time. The main issue is that the Send pass through is necessary for both methods but it’s use is different in each one. Thanks for your interest! @@sweetwater I have this same question. Do you not think that you could simply do the 4 cable method as demonstrated, but add the fuzz before the guitar input? Why would the fuzz actually need to be within the passive loop if it is passive anyway that would be the same as putting it after the guitar, but before the guitar input of the interface?
@sweetwater
@sweetwater Год назад
@@frankiek733 Hi, Frankie. Yes, you could put the fuzz pre interface if you wanted to use a fuzz as well as the four cable method. There just wouldn’t be a way of doing the different routings demonstrated in the video at the same time, but what you’ve suggested would accomplish a similar goal. Thanks for your interest! How would one integrate this buffer via 4 cable method into a rig that has a noise gate connected via 4 cable method?
@sweetwater
@sweetwater Год назад
Hi, Aaron. The Buffer Interface simply acts as a high quality buffer and pass through. This helps keep your signal strong and gives you a convenient place to easily plug in all your cables. If you’re currently running a noise gate in your effects loop, you’ll still be able to do that. The send and returns will just bass through the Buffer Interface as the signal goes to and from your pedalboard. Thanks for your interest! I suspect it has more to do with the playing since it's not a direct A/B like you would turning on/off a pedal, you have to add in the 100ft. cable, the buffer, power supply, so any dynamic change in my right had will have an impact. We spent many years getting this as colorless as possible and had a lot of practice. I've literally made 100's of these by hand over the course of a decade before we made this commercial one.

@@stanknugget that just doesn't add up. More brands should be doing what he's doing in our industry. Vertex is investing in their customers and investing in educating the community as a whole. Very few brands outside of Wampler, JHS, and That Pedal Show that are gears brands and educators at the same time are on par with what Vertex is doing. I know the story about the Wah Wah, and he gets a lot of grief for that, but MOST importantly, what did he do about it? By all accounts people got their money back for that pedal like he promised and he's clearly doing right if he's in with Sweetwater and all the other major retailers out there. If there was even a hint of BS why would any of those business take the risk?
