@@atomizer2665 it is aeroponic. Not hydroponic. The roots are not constantly in water. You might want to think and educate yourself before replying to a truthful post.
Using your definition, a timed NFT would be aeroponic and a DWC bucket run as a flood and drain would also be aeroponic but, just like the tower garden, they are definitely hydroponic.
I have been intrigued by tower farming for some time now, primarily as a means of cultivating my own produce on my terrace. While the terrace is sizeable, it does not qualify as a proper garden, making it challenging to grow fruits and vegetables. However, with tower farming, I am confident that I can effectively cultivate the crops I need in a relatively small area. I stumbled upon your channel today and was immediately impressed, prompting me to subscribe. I hope to have ample time in the coming days and weeks to browse through those of your videos that pique my interest. Thank you for sharing your expertise and the considerable effort you have invested in creating these videos. 🙏🏼😎
Yes, it did, @@Amirmteir. I have 4 towers with a total of 112 slots but I'm only using about 80 of them right now because some plants just need more space. Right now I'm growing: cauliflower, broccoli, marigold , romaine lettuce, cayenne pepper, rosemary, thyme, lavender, chives, strawberries, spring onions, basil, parsley and cilantro. I'm having trouble getting nutrient solutions here on my rock in the Atlantic but I'm now using normal liquid fertiliser. I just had to adjust the concentration accordingly. It does pretty well. 👍🏼😉
My four towers are all in the open, @@rohansagar2180. They all get plenty of light but only two of them get direct sunlight, so I plant accordingly. I've had failures and successes but right now everything is growing fine. 👍🏼😉
Love this video and thanks so much for sharing. One minor correction. Energy consumption is in watt hours or kilo watt hours not watts. At 0:48, your pump is consuming 45 watts of power. Run for the whole hour, it would consume 45 watt hours ( 45Wh) worth of electricity. Since it only runs for 12 minutes out of an hour, it consumes 45W * 12/60 h = 9Wh. Running for 24 hrs, it's 216Wh per day, not 216 watts per day. And yes, 216Wh per day x 30 days is 6,480Wh or 6.48kWh x $0.16 per kWh = $1.04 per month in the US. Awesome energy efficiency. Is the pump on for 12 minutes straight every hour, or 6 minutes every 30 minutes, or something else?
If you consider the plants in the tower are only using 1-2 gallons a day and the 45w pump runs for a full 4.8 hours a day the energy efficiency is woeful.
@@WorldCitizenW The water is just cycled through the tower and back to the reservoir, it wastes a lot of power but there`s no chance of a flood. If it was a genuine aeroponic tower, the pump would run for 24 minutes a day to grow the same number of plants. It would provide all of the benefits associated with aeroponics and you could choose to run it to waste, waste being less than a cupful per day. The elemental profile of a nutrient that is delivered to the tower just "once" is guaranteed. The elemental profile of the same nutrient cycled through a tower 97 times a day is not. Its a mixture of partially spent nutrient, root debris and anything that returns from the tower, including potential pathogens and heat. The longer you run the nutrient for, the further from optimal it gets. You cant run the tower garden to waste because its hydroponic, the 20 gallon reservoir wouldn`t last an hour.
@@WorldCitizenW I do not, I'm an electrical engineer. I eat and breath formulas and units of measure. I want one also. I just have a small one I run in the winter.
Well said! I love that you can make monthly payments if you prefer because I bought one and the second I just made monthly payments and I just love them. Would love to get a couple more. It’s awesome to see them grow so fast, taste delicious, and the tower looks so beautiful!
Listen to this though, you had to make payments to obtain a piece of plastic to hold water and plants. This is hundreds of % markup for nothing more than profit.
We'd love to help you get your hands on one of our aeroponic towers! International shipping is available, and you can place an order through our website: 🌱 agrotonomy.com/
Well presented… Amazing to see how prolific the crops are in this video. My Tower Garden is outdoors in Arizona….this is brutal on most plants except cucumbers and squash…It seems that the protection of a greenhouse is best for summers here…. On the other hand, our winters are mild enough for bumper crops of lettuce grown in my backyard Tower.
These aeroponic towers can be set up in almost any climate except for extremely low temperatures below freezing or very high temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius. In such cases, indoor growing or a climate-controlled greenhouse may be required.
1.1k for a tower seems really expensive. At first, at least, without understanding very much of it. I have to admit that I have to look into this kind of growing more. I am yet very uninformed and I know that quality - in the long run - is a big, big factor. The video seems very interesting. Thank you ver much.
Hy plz make full details video how I learn this farming from beginner to advance and from where I got resources and how make it buget friendly as I'm in India. From where get towers and other required material.

Aeroponically grown plants have 100% availability of oxygen at the root level, which improves their ability to absorb nutrients. As a result, whether it's nutrient density, antioxidant levels, or flavonoid levels, soil farming crops rank among the best ever tested. Increased nutrient density, flavonoids, and antioxidant levels translate to better taste and vegetables with the right texture and water content!
@@drgrundoon333 I know exactly what i`m talking about :) I`m afraid you have been mislead by the creative advertising that Tower Garden and others use to convince folks their product is aeroponic when its actually hydroponic. A t best its a vertical NFT, at worst its a drip system either way its hydroponic. A genuine aeroponic system can be run to waste, you cant run a tower garden to waste. The tower garden has to pump literally hundreds of gallons a day in order to supply the plants with just the gallon or two they actually use. A genuine aeroponic system would be able to deliver no more than the one to two gallons the plants need. If the tower garden is aeroponic why does it need to use 11x more power than an aeroponic system? A genuine aeroponic system doesnt need to recirculate the nutrients because it is able to deliver just what the plants need or use. This is a huge benefit, the nutrient elemental content is always optimal. There is no risk of debris , pathogens or contamination of the nutrient because nothing ever comes back from the root chamber. You cant do this with a tower garden becuase, being hydroponic, its forced to deliver 100`s of gallons a day,. not just one or two. If you compare the "aeroponic"roots grown in a tower garden to hydroponic roots they will look exactly the same. If you compare them to genuine aeroponic roots, even a blind man would know they are not aeroponic because he would be able to feel the difference. TG roots are long but sparse and absolutely soaking wet. Genuine aeroponic roots are barely damp, pure white and almost feathery in appearance, basically nothing remotely close to hydroponic roots ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-l1Rmm9JvPfY.html I plan to run a side by side test with a genuine aeroponic tower and an identical tower using the same irrigation method as the tower garden. I will monitor and record the water, nutrient and power use of both towers and compare root and shoot growth. The tower garden only claims to be better than traditional soil growing, a genuine aeroponic system will outperform both soil and hydroponics. The tower garden doesnt claim to do better than hydroponics because it is hydroponic. The blog on the tower garden website conveniently forgets to mention that NASA used mist . It simply says: {quote} Advancements like aeroponic technology, first introduced by NASA, relies simply on water and key nutrients, rather than soil. {quote} Source: www.towergarden.com/blog.read.html/en/2020/5/beginners-guide-to-aeroponic-gardening.html Its all half truths and creative advertising, most folks understand that hydroponics also relies on water and key nutrients rather than soil.
@@atomizer2665 okay you’re definitely educated but I’m afraid you are splitting hairs the aeroponic system/method you speak of is true high pressure. Nowhere in tower garden videos or marketing do they refer to their system as high pressure.

Hello I have a question, when we talk about traditional soil culivation, we need nitrifying (or more) soil bacteria and fungus that live in symbiosis with the plants to be grown, is this the same for aeroponic method ? can we totally make the vegetable growing without these bacteria and fungus that transform nutrients ?
On the contrary, these aeroponic crops have the same levels of nutrient density, antioxidant levels, and flavonoid levels as the best grown in soil. The study is featured on our website. Regarding the nutrients, it is a 100% natural ionic mineral nutrient solution that only has essential minerals and trace elements that plants need to grow healthy.
You can, but it is not ideal for optimal growth (fastest growth) as most people who do hydroponic tailor nutrient solutions and light exposure for a specific species.
While you can cut and regrow, the second harvest would not be as bountiful as the first. We choose to harvest with roots intact to extend shelf life and add the roots to our compost.
Hi I would love to use this I'm Somalia. How much would this setup cost per tower. I'm thinking of producing only lettuce in one hectare shade net greenhouse. I.e. 10000sqm could house 5000 towers?
It depends on the size of the tower. For more information, please read the following article: agrotonomy.com/what-is-the-difference-between-a-tower-garden-and-a-tower-farm/
How to set up it and what is the cost set up in 5000 square feet, Can you please let me know please make one video with budget and what would be the cost in india?
We feed our plants with a combination of water and a natural mineral nutrient solution. Using a low-wattage submersible pump, this nourishing blend circulates from the bottom of the tower. Once it reaches the top, it gently drizzles down, showering the roots and creating an optimal environment for nutrient absorption.
Plants grown aeroponically have 100% availability of oxygen at the root level enhancing their ability to absorb nutrients. As a result, whether talking about nutrient density, antioxidant levels, or flavonoid levels where crops rank as high as the best ever tested with soil farming. Increase in nutrient density, flavonoids, and antioxidant levels also translates in superior taste and vegetables with the appropriate texture and water content.
The plants get their nutrients from an ionic mineral nutrient solution that is soluble and mixed in the water. It provides all of the macronutrients and micronutrients necessary for healthy plant growth.
How are you? I am in South Africa and I am interested in having a rooftop greenhouse farm with aeroponic towers. How many towers of 67cm basin width would ideally be placed in a 30m x 10m greenhouse. Your assistance will be greatly appreciated ❤
Although technically a tower uses less than 1m², we advise allowing 2m² (approximately 20ft²) per tower: this includes enough space for the towers, the dosing station, the aisle spacing, and the propagation bench area. In other terms, in a 300m² space like yours, you will be able to fit up to 150 towers.

Ensuring a stable electricity supply is indeed crucial for a vertical farm utilizing aeroponic towers. Many farms address this by incorporating solar panels to maintain a continuous power source. However, it's important to note that the towers can withstand a few hours without electricity, and the plants will recover without any issues.
