Musky fishing on beautiful lake of the woods in Ontario sunset country. Solo camping for 3 days on a remote Island. Hunting big musky while vertical jigging. Fall time is the best time of year to jig for musky, Its also the best time of year to catch more bigger fish. Come with me as I hunt for big musky on this large body of water!

This is quite impressive. Most impressive to me is that you are out there learning and fishing by yourself. I used to like to do that but now I am 70 and it is fairly difficult. Great job.

Nothing more rewarding than figuring it out for yourself and putting the time in. Thanks for watching! Glad you enjoyed!!

Thanks for the great comment friend! Would just recommend not fishing in to deep of water this time of year just to prevent temperature shock or barotrauma.. but good luck! Lots of big musky in that area!

Not too comment too much cause you still smash the fish. Love it. But would get a lot better hook set standing. And if you do this more you would love Livescope.

Yeh and typically you don't really wanna fish for really any type of fish that deep. Can mess em up pretty bad...?? I don't fish deep but that's what I hear all the time
@fishhuntstudios
@fishhuntstudios 9 месяцев назад
The max depth I would recommend is 30 feet.. for musky, walleye, bass etc. The musky being caught in this video were coming out of 15 to 26 feet of water. Pulling fish out of deeper water could be very harmful to the fish. Great question!

I defiantly agree! standing is best however a bigger screen is needed. Livescope is coming soon! Thanks for the comment!

Muskies can actually adjust thier swim bladder, not as efficiently as a lake trout or whitefish, but they do have a pneumatic duct. Which is the part that allows for adjustment. They are fine coming out of the deep water 99% of the time. Only if they have just eaten something very recently and it is still forward in their gut, they might have trouble adjusting. But even in that situation they will be alright. They just stay on the surface a bit longer than usual until they can get the air out. @@fishhuntstudios

Nicely done! What do you usually look for in structure for jigging?
@fishhuntstudios
@fishhuntstudios 9 месяцев назад
Thanks!! Yeah I tend to look for steep drop offs located near deep water. They are usually sitting right on the shelf looking into the deep water

When you say “can you see that” referring to your live scope, you don’t zoom in at all so there was nothing apparent on my TV screen to show 2 muskies on the bottom. You might want to consider zooming in on your screen to make it more apparent to viewers. Also the tail hooked musky had scars on the tail, which suggests the trauma may have been from your inadvertent tail snag. When bigger musky predators attack its usually along the side closer to the head.

I believe he's just looking at his down imaging and seeing a large mark on the screen. Muskie are pretty easy to identify due to their size. In regards to the second musky, one was following the other, which I have seen happen only a couple times.

When jigging for musky do you let the lure hit bottom kind of like when jigging for walleye, or do you jig the lure suspended off the bottom?
@fishhuntstudios
@fishhuntstudios 3 месяца назад
Usually I jig a few feet off bottom. Anywhere from 2 to 10 feet. Only on occasion do I tap off the bottom
