Great Review! Those aren't ties inside the holster compartment. They are meant to hang outside of the zippered bag. You pull them with nondominant hand opening holster allowing you to draw with dominant hand. They are on either side depending on how you will draw your weapon....
Great review! Love that so many guys are excited about fanny packs. This one does check a lot of boxes for some of the features I have been looking for.
I had high hopes for this. I have been rockin an OG Blackhawk 5-5-10 fanny pack since 1996. I don't like the way the gun compartment is accessed. I would prefer it to fold completely open and be out of the way for the draw. I would also prefer it to be a little "looser" and more pliable. The last 2 things would be the positioning of the buckle it should be on one side instead of in the center of the back and the way to keep the straps secure they tend to work their way loose. I do like the internal organization the removable pocket, the side pocket they are the perfect size for some gloves. I also like the colors. Like I said I had high hopes, but it fell short
I am using the Alias receiver for mine so the gun mount is on the outside. You can use the holster attachment that comes with it, put it on the surface on your body, and the bag will flop open completely. The bag is pretty pliable, just depends what you have inside of it. The strap can be adjusted so the buckle is anywhere you want. I think if you got your hands on one, you might like it.
@@NeoMagUSA I've had one for about 4 weeks now. It's ok would like it to have the features I mentioned also get rid of the front phone compartment. It's still a good bag. Since my surgery I used it daily.
I've been trying out a trigger-guard only holster (like the Eclipse, ClipDraw, etc) with the SOCP and I think it's working out pretty well. You don't necessarily even need to worry too much about flagging on the draw because the trigger is still covered by a kydex sheath until the firearm is clear of your arms/chest etc. I like the Alias mount but I'm not sure what all I need to get to make it work.
I’m still not carrying my pocket edc gear and gun in it only if I’m like at the beach pool or at home where I need to put my items in so the kids won’t be curious if it’s just layed up on the dresser. But I did buy that medkit you have in the back very smart idea and saves space for the pouches. Getting mine tomorrow hopefully it can fit my steam deck so when on the go I can have a smaller bag that isn’t huge when I’m bored even then it will mostly be carrying just medical stuff pens paper portable charger just things I’d need out if the family needs it. I’ll always stay on body carry. I’ll put a comment tomorrow to confirm if the deck fits in there or not so others can know. But yeah excited for this since it’s summer and we love to be outside
So yes it does fit a steam deck!!! But you can’t have a hard case or cover on it and you also have to put it upside down so the zippers can zip through. It is a tight fit but if upside down it’s not a forced fit just tight. And you can carry a p365 size pistol in front pouch with it if you so choose not my preference for carry it gets thick with that but it can work
I have been running this bag with a P365X Macro for the last three months. It is a very solid bag that could be an amazing bag with a few tweaks. Hoping that VERTX continues to evolve the product. Great video as I have been looking at adding your system to this bag. Just ordered what I need.
@neomag On my running med fanny pack I either remove the zipper pull that I don’t use to open, or tuck the pull into the bag and close the other zipper flush to it. That way when I go to open it I don’t run the risk of grabbing both zipper pulls or grabbing the wrong one.
"Girthier dude" you have no idea, lol. Hey, I think I met you at GunCon! I decided to start a channel. Haven't uploaded yet. Been looking at VERTX bag options and this really caught my eye, but they seem to not offer the Fanny Packs anymore. I'm guessing your "secret squirrel" was right and they're updating them right now. The smaller slings are available, but that off-body (on body sorta) carry angle is what has me interested, not as much for myself personally, but as a potential option for a lot of us in wheelchairs (I don't use my wheels much, so I carry 4-o'clock - wished I had my chair at GunCon though, I was blasted by the end).
Especially in an urban environment, i don't understand the quick release for security reason as anyone can easily detach it on your back and so another person on your side or in front of you can just take the bag and run with it.
Have you used either Vertyx fanny pack with a plate carrier? I know they make danglers for PC’s but I also like having a Fanny pack for daily wear and if I need to throw my PC on without taking the fanny pack off or pushing to my back since it has things I want available. Thanks.
That's a sweet CCW setup! What exact holster and Neomag attachment do you have that allows the firearm to securely mount onto the inside of the fanny pack?
Are guys bringing back more Alia’s hook and loop? Seems they have been out of stock for awhile. Been trying to email you to find out. Big fan of your product.
Hello I’ve recently subscribed to your channel after watching several of your shorts. I can’t wait to order a few things but I have a question about the hook and loop receiver. I have a EDC sling bag and the hook and loop receiver would be perfect for it but how do I attach it to the bag? If you can may you make a video explaining and showing how to do it. Please and thank you
You can use pretty much any kydex holster on the market with our Alias system. I'm using a holster from ANR design with our Alias clip and the Hook & Loop Receiver. theneomag.com/alias
This may be a stupid ask (I'm very new to all of this!) but would it be possible to have a video about how to install/attach the alias to the bag? I hope that made sense, once again I'm very novice and learning as I go
Loved the way you did the medical. I have the exact same LTC pocket medical so I ended up doing the same thing. Took out the SWAT-T and added a CAT to that pocket you put the snacks in. I’m waiting on the Alia’s to come in and will also add that system. That’ll be perfect. I have a SOCP Rescue hook tool on the way that I’ll be adding and looking at potentially adding the XShears to that area also. Are you familiar with that? Do you think it’d fit fine? That’ll probably max out my Fanny pack!
@@ericholladay5280 Sorry i took so long. No. Doesn’t fit at all. To be honest with you now owning it for months. If you’re looking to remove things from your pockets this will work but even that will fill it up. I now only use it when going to my friends gym. Gun, Keyes, wallet, headphones and knife. Plus TQ and medical. It’s very full. I wouldn’t wear it out like that.
I bought the sling. My phone did not fit in it and inside the phone compartment and the main compartment had so much inside of it there was no room for my gear. A loss of money.
Why would it be better to have the gun on the far side of that compartment? That would tend to make the gun point inward toward yourself or if not holding that whole front part of the pouch then it flops open and downward, exposing the gun and possibly gun drops out. Or else, you gotta really hold the pouch in, constricting the access, and, hand now needs to insert between that inside wall of pouch and the grip just to get onto the grip, vs if gun on inside wall, firing hand comes at the grip from open access, not obstruction. So, bad idea in so many ways. Gun should be on the side near body.
With the Alias you can use the same holster you carry IWB with if it attaches on the other side. If the clip is on the inside you cant use an IWB holster. The Alias system allows you to move your holster to different locations like the Hook & Loop receiver. I see your concerns and agree you need to be careful when drawing from a chest pack. I made a video on this last week. Check it out ru-vid.comqfXA-pHV5kY?feature=share
Sorry have to go. Looking for the handgun aspect of the Fanny pack aspect. Size of weapon, can it carry a 1911 ss 45 acp safely. All the other card, wallet, camera, cell phones etc are moot for me. It is self explanatory for the odds and ends. Rather you would get to the meat of the subject first then go to the secondary objects. Couldn’t make through the card stuff.
