Making a throw blanket with latte cakes in this stitch. I don’t know how I never came across the silt stitch before but I love it. I love how the simplest stitches can make such pretty projects. ❤ Thanks again for another great tutorial!!

I’ve used this stitch pattern for blankets, it’s great. I’ve also altered it by doing the opposite and ending with a single crochet every row.

When I do this, there is no hdc on the ends. every row begins and ends with sc. I am working on one now. It makes a great texture.

Love this stitch and the yarn. I need to find somewhere I can get red heart yarn from where it doesn't cost an arm and a leg, the arm for the yarn and the leg for the freight.

Yarn reminds me of the ombre yarn I used to make a scarf and hat set for my lifelong friend. She loved anything purple 💜. She is since deceased and I now have the scarf and hat set back to remember her by. As ever thank you for your tutorials. 😊

I made a huge blanket with this stitch 20 years ago, but I never heard a name for it. I did it as a variation of the sc into dc, dc into sc version. I've made many things with this stitch over the years, and I always love how it comes out. One thing I do differently: I chain an even number, and on the first row I sc into the second chain from the hook, dc into the next, and so on. When I get to the end I sc into the last stitch, so that I always have an sc as the first and last stitch on every row. I LOVE this stitch so much because there is never any counting needed, and it is easy to see any mistakes and fix them right away. You can listen to a book or have a conversation or watch a video while crocheting. So simple and always with beautiful results. I think I'll try your idea of starting and ending with a half-double; single works well, but maybe the slightly taller stitch will give some benefit. ❤️

I have made scarves with the seed stitch, which is sumilar except on row 2 and following I dc in each sc and sc in each dc. It comes out even more textured.

This reminds me, though I forget the name of the pattern it makes, of thevscarf I made my friend that called for a slip st, hdc, slip st, hdc etc. This is a beautiful one also. Sc, dc, sc, dc, etc. Love these.

I love this stitch! Making my son a blanket out of Bed at Blanket in Harvest color, one he can take on his truck with him for winter. Making one with the same stitch out of Lion brands Hometown in black and forest green colors. Can get really cold up near Montana, Idaho and Washington in the winter, and the blankets will come in handy on those coast to coast trips.😊

I know I already sent you a comment I just have to tell you I am making an Afghan with this pattern for my 84-year-old brother for Christmas. Is turning out beautifully and it's very lightweight. It's so hard to find a pattern that's easy to do that turns out lightweight. It will be perfect for an 84-year-old man

Hello, this is my go to stitch when I do my crocheted cotton blouses. It's a tight stich so you don't really have to wear anything like a tank under the top. I still however wear a tank/camosile under it. The top I have on in my pic is made with this stitch. I also make some of my dish cloths with this stitch when I want a bit of a change from single crocheted ones. I always called this stitch the seed stitch though.

Thank you Crystal, I am currently working on a lapghan with this stitch I couldn’t remember exactly how to do this stitch, I was doing it wrong, so thank you for helping me get it right. I was doing alternate rows sc on dc and vice a versa and ended with whatever I ended with. Thank you now it will look better! 🤗

Hello Crystal, I’m very new to the hobby, absolutely love it. I’ve learned a lot from you & your videos. Yesterday I purchased the Red Heart super saver ombre yarn however I just realized it’s not violet in color it’s Baja blue but I’m going to use it anyways. Can’t wait to get started on it.
