You have completely changed my life. 8 years ago I started having anxiety and I slowly turned into a hypochondriac all of it focuses on my heart and I've been convinced I'm having a heart attack dozens of times. I've done so much research on the heart trying to know every single little thing its ridiculous. Now that I've found you I just get on here and about 2 minutes into one of your videos and I'm calmed back down and back to normal. If I could just get my doctors to talk to me like you do instead of pushing meds I won't take my anxiety probably wouldn't have made it this far

York cardiology, I have low blood pressure my cardiologist calls it orthostatic hypotension and verus POTs, Well he said likely a significant element of pots. He tested me quickly but cant low pressure mimic pot symptoms? Also, I'm pregnant and my blood pressure can go as low to 79 over 45 I called my ob he said drink water increase sodium but I should be fine. I feel okay I have a headache and I feel I stay dehydrated even tho I drink water I feel alot, my heart rate does jump up when standing. I guess my question is how can I get the appropriate testing for POTs and should I be concerned about my blood pressure?

I somewhat agree. I have anxiety and panic attacks that raise my heartbeat and have previously made me think I was having a heart attack. But now that I'm more aware of my own anxiety and have managed it, I still get weird sensations and an increased heart rate when I haven't been worried or thinking about any health concerns. That certainly isn't my mind controlling my heart beat.

I have had infrequent episodes of rapid, regular heart rate without apparent reason over the past ten years. When I experience these episodes the rate increases gradually to about 145 bpm over a period of minutes and remains at that level for about 45 minutes and gradually returns to normal over a period of hours. My maximum heart rate is 155bpm. You are the first person among many doctors to explain what is happening to me in a clear and informative way. Aside from that, your calm and caring manner is remarkable for someone who practices medicine. I am so very very grateful for your generous spirit and I wish you something beautiful and wonderful.

Dr. Gupta thanks for the informative video. When I first went on the keto diet and fasted for a week my heart beats went very irregular and when I went to bed I thought I wouldn’t wake up in the morning. That morning I drank a glass of water with a teaspoon of pink salt and I’ve never had the problem again. I drink a glass of salt water daily now and it also stops leg and hand cramps. So obviously the heart needs salt for its electrical conductive needs..

This is something which makes people panik. Most of the people think that high heart beat damages heart. There is no evidence for this. I have seen some people saying that people with heart rate 60-70 have less chance of heart disease. This kind of information make people panic. My grandmother has blood. pressure 190-120. People used to get scared after seeing the reading. Some people even thought how her arteries are withstanding such high pressure. She lived 88 years. She could have lived longer if she avoided those beta blockers. We cannot make any conjectures. Every person is different.

Hi Sanjay, your youtubes are so informative , thank you for the content. It's really helped me understand the heart and electrical system. I've experienced all three tachycardia's, (atrial, super and ventricular). I find the atrial the scariest, its utter electrical chaos in the upper chambers when it happens, but I maintain a regular heart rythm. One technique I've learned is hold your breath and pinch your nose, for a few seconds at a time, this puts stress on the vegas nerve and helps to suppress the electrical misfiring, I have found this to be quite effective and shortens the duration of the event. down to 5 to 10 seconds The other two I've found drinking cayenne powder in water as well as juicing lemon in water and staying hydrated really minimises all three.

I have been to the emergency room many times and have been getting mixed messages from the doctors and nurses some say the heart can last days going this fast and others say I will go into cardiac arrest if it stays that high 30 minutes or longer. Went back to pediatrician a week later , all signs of sickness all gone he says, but heart rate still high… sends us to cardiologist a week later.. she does all kind of tests and says everything is normal with his heart, she see’s no issues .. any ideas? he has no fever and and oxygen is 97-99%.. im lost! its been a month now with this .. son has no complaints of pain or discomfort, breathing, etc…Blood pressure is also normal.

My doctor put me on beta blockers and I have been on them for years. I hate to see my daughter go on a drug all of her life, too. She is an ultra marathon runner, US Naval Academy graduate, and just seems odd that she would get this too since she is so fit. If you have 'unusually' (for you) high, or "pounding" heartrate, and prolonged, in response to big meals, after exercise, or any triggers including anxiety, it could be an early warning sign of hyperthyroidism. I wish I got tested sooner but I just put it down to "anxiety". Now I have to suffer much stronger responses, and more. My thyroid tested normal when I first noticed the symptoms, but don't ignore it if it keeps going on, or worsens. For me it was years before it relatively quickly got very bad and I finally sought help (I think for me it was triggered by a virus+menstruation) now I'm on beta blockers, and a high dose of anti-thyroid drugs, the latter takes time to really work, meanwhile I suffer day and night, sometimes it's very stressful

I had many tests done on my heart a year and a half ago and the doctor was very happy with it . He wanted me to lose 80 lbs in 4 months and come back. Well I didn't go back because I didn't lose the weight . Well yesterday I weighed myself and I had lost 51 lbs which is wonderful but I am getting short of breath on and off and my heart goes over 100. The worse it has gone was 140 and I was in a full blown anxiety attack . I really don't have those very often but I think the age thing is upsetting me more than I realize. Does this make since ? I will see my doctor real soon. Maybe he won't notice the 30 lbs. Hahahahaha . But regardless of what is going on I'm determined to get the weight off of which I am proud of myself so far. You helped me to calm down and not worry so much . I will see the doctor in the next 2 days . If it seems too much I will go to the emergency room . But I feel much better ! Thank you !

Cervical instability can also cause it. I wake up between 3 am and 5 am heart rate increased to nearly 168 bpm ( Apple Watch) trapezius muscle tight and hurting. I have central and left side c3 c4 c5 disc compression. Once the pain subsides and I bear down and breathe ( pucker technique) it eventually levels out. I have had EKG’s and Troponin levels all check out good.

I was place on a beta blocker labetalol 800mg morning and night and it was not reducing my blood pressure as needed so I suddenly stop it and switch to a calcium blocker amlodipine besylate and I noticed the sudden stop of labetalol made my heart pulse to go beating high from 80 to 132 and I always feel the beating...but what I don't kn is if it is wise to still be exercising with that heart beat.....I try exercising 3miles every day with 300calories burn daily.

How can my loop recorder shows sudden spikes in heart rate up to 350 bpm. I’ll be having tachycardia around 150 then sudden spikes anywhere from 200 to 350. They literally only last a second or so, but will occur multiple times for a roughly 6 seconds. How is this possible.

Hi dr. Thnx for the video, it was informative. Recently i am having fast heart rate over 140 while doing simple things like cleaning the house or using the stairs, yesterday i had fatigue and extremely high heart rate while having sex, it was for few minutes, i had to stop to take breath, and terminate the process. Recently im facing difficulty in having erection. Since covid19 started, i was positive for three times until now, and my heart is not normal since then. I have high cholesterol levels, extra weight of +15 kg from optimal weight. My age is 38, married with kids. I have sleeping problems, like stress, not easy to fall asleep, asthma. Before few months i went to the hospital explaining this, but they juat did atropine test and it was normal, so they discharged me saying i have no issues, my ECG was normal, but my smart fit watch always notifying me that i have heart arrithmia, or premature pulses. What i should do?

I have this and now I wake from sleep with tachycardia for sometimes up to one minute before it slows down. Lately though my stomach is more and more upset and I'm getting more and more tachycardia. Hi there Mr Gupta . I'm a 39 yr female who Is told I need a heart transplant . I have have SVT my heart rate goes up to 220 pm and I have a difib device . Im a poor eater and weights about 54 kgs . I got difib 20times in a space of 1 hr . I'm have stayed in hospital for 8days afraid to go home . The difib was set at 135 bpm and I think that was to low . I'm on spircton 5mgs , bilacor 10mgs ,lenxon 2.5, aracor 200mgs and alaprin half (pressure meds ) I always have low blood pressure 99/65 and a times it goes lower . I did an angio and all Is clear . I don't eat much food no apatite . Im afraid I don't know what to do anymore . I was given options of a device that's attached to the right side of the heart provided the heart is strong on that side so it's a hole on the side of the heart and this device provides constant flow of blood to the heart and it runs on 4 batteries with a cord sticking below the rib cage a everywhere u go u tag this around . There will be no swimming once this is put in. The other is a transplant and for that I need a donor .

I’m a 34 year old woman & my resting heart rate is between 85-100. Often I’ll be sitting and it’s 98-103. I am about 50 lbs over weight and started working with a trainer 2 months ago. My trainer got worried because when I do moderate exercise it goes up to as high as 194. So long story short is I’m getting checked out…. Thank you for your videos.

Did you ever get it checked out and got an answer? Your numbers are almost exactly what mine have been for the past few months (I'm also 34). I'm planning on setting up a visit with a specialist, but I'm just curious what happened with your issue.
@H87-u5o
@H87-u5o 2 года назад
@@adamant5550 I did - I saw a cardiologist and had a bunch of tests done. Everything came back normal. He said I have a naturally high heart rate and that as I get stronger and my body gets used to working out again my heart rate will start to take longer to get up that high. As I’ve continued to work out this has proven to be true. My heart rate no longer gets up in the 190’s. It also takes a bit longer for me to get into the high 180’s. I’ve learned it’s important for me to slowly work up to more intense workouts and to monitor my heart rate during workouts so I don’t overdo it. I’d still recommend getting checked out though. It’ll rule anything else out and give you a piece of mind.

@@H87-u5o Glad to hear it. In the past when I've gone to specialists, I've gotten the same answer. Everything is normal. For me, I'm sure it is more anxiety related.

I’m in a similar boat. Except there are days where I have perfectly normal heart rates (72-80) and with exertion (going up stairs or playing with my kids)I get up to around 105-115. But then a day will pass and I’ll have a “bad” day where the slightest exertion has me over 100 and taking the trash bin to the end of the driveway will have me at 140. It’s so frustrating dealing with this off and on stuff. I have some appts coming up to get checked out … I’ve dealt with palpitations for 17 years to the tune of around 13000 a day. Had a catheter ablation a year ago and it was wildly successful. Palpitations are all but gone.. but now I’m dealing with this inappropriate sinus tach. coming intermittently. So frustrating 😢. It’s difficult to do any exercise as my pulse simply goes too high too fast on these bad days.

Thanks for mentioning anemia and specifically iron deficiency. I have low ferritin (Iron deficiency) and am not anemic ( I have slipped into being anemic over the years, though). This information is SO important to get out there. I don't generally have a racing heart, but I do get palpitations on occasion. So many doctors only look at hemoglobin on a CBC, but don't test ferritin because they either don't know to or say ferritin is not important as long as your hemoglobin is ok. I finally got my ferritin tested at age 44, and I had to change doctors to do it!
