That is a serious motor room, it's even got a desk with computer! That otis lift managment software uses a comic sans font, I wouldn't have expected that silly font for that type of software, LOL.

Interesting... I've seen that machine on a lot of older Otis Installations in Chicago (although not with the safety guard over the drive sheave). I never knew those same motors were being used in Europe!!

Was this building a high rise, with mid rise elevators and express elevators? The machine room is very detailed with the color coding for each machine, along with the porta power for the brakes. Safety was taken into consideration in the planning stages with steel grates over the sheaves, and the overspeed governor. Which is not seen often enough, with exposed driven sheaves.

Perfect would be if you filmed the type plates of the motors, too. I think these are DC gearless motors. Know some of them running at rather low voltages approx. 150-200 volts DC, with currents up to 200 amps and more.

you should have copied the software at that pc in the motor room to your memory stick :D

The computer didn't have the windows taskbar. It seems that it runs the Otis program as the shell program.

Almost certainly Otis. I do not know if it is DC or AC. The lifts have positioning tape that connects to a taco in the motor room. The positioning tape designs were for old relay lifts. I am not sure if early 80s lifts still used this tape but with a mico controller, or if these lifts are very bodged. Otis's high speed logics (excluding the old relay ones) are very bodged and very hard to work with. The design is very proprietary and everything about it is confusing. The VF drive or DC drive (depending on if is is AC or DC) is Otis. Otis don't usually use other companies drives on their lifts

Ces moteurs sont également plus silencieux que les moteurs traditionnels avec réducteur, ce qui est un avantage pour le confort des usagers et des riverains. Dans le cas d'un tour à 18 étages en Allemagne, les moteurs électriques gearless des ascenseurs Otis ne devraient pas produire de bruit gênant, car ils sont conçus pour s'adapter à tous les types de configurations et disposent d'un système de contrôle permanent de l'état des courroies plates d'acier gainé. De plus, le dispositif de secours automatique permet aux passagers de la cabine, en cas d’une coupure de courant, d’être transportés automatiquement et en toute sécurité à l’étage le plus proche.
