Awesome video and great insight you’ve shared. I love my 30 Nosler and appreciate the capabilities you’ve shown in the gun and the round. Whomever buys that gun should know they have a unicorn
I finally got to shoot this rifle and a few others today. I shot it off of a bipod to dial in my scope. Then used a shoddy stacked 2x6 platform with a few sand bags (range bags) and my field bean-bag. I shot a low .3" group (3shots). If I had a good rest and rear bag, this rifle would shoot sub .25" easily. Will be getting another QMM rifle, deciding between a 7mmRM field rifle, 28 Nosler for F class or .338imp/33xc next.
So - once you got the new blaster broken in, it settled down and smiled at you. Interesting break in methodology BTW. Thankfully it was not the new scope.
You cant teach troubleshooting. A good troubleshooter expects that problems will eventually exist and uses a systematic approach that will eliminate the most likely variables first and that comes with experience but also a desire to exploit problems in the first place. I think we have witnessed this, time and again in these videos. You wont send a rifle until you've tested it because you know that one day there will be a problem and you face those obstacles (exploit). You know you have to systematically separate the most likely variables, one at a time and that is your experience in effect but more than that, it is your desire to provide your very best. That's why you can't teach troubleshooting. All of these things must be within the troubleshooter. And embracing failure enough to learn about it and also from it. This is a fantastic video!
Had the same issue with a custom I had built. I sold the gun and then the guy started shooting it and was getting good groups and the the point of impact kept changing. I kept telling him to checks his receiver screw and he never did. Finally, I went over and made sure everything was tight and he has never had an issue with it since. Now, him and I always make sure those screws are tighten properly
Oh, and if you asked Vicky to run down there just one more time to check those groups I was going to order her a Uber. She must have been one tired gal that evening. She needs a raise LOL.
@@quarterminutemagnums Thanks for the feedback. I have gun that isn't shooting (like 1.5-2 MOA 5-shot groups at 100 yards...Just terrible, stomach turning stuff). I thought it probably wasn't the scope because I figured I'd lose my zero if it were but I'll try swapping scopes. I've basically checked everything else. The barrel is probably bad but it doesn't hurt to try.
