I turned what looks like the exact same piece of punky wood last night. I loaded it with sanding sealer and left it for a few days. When I went to turn it the sand paper just plugged up. I have another piece of the same, I will try the resin on it. Great video, Thanks.
I have a ton of this wood. I use resin on 99% of all the bowls I turn, punky or not. It leaves a beautiful, hard surface to work with and is easy to care for. The finish is beautiful. Thanks for stopping by. I have many new projects coming soon!
Thanks. I do use Sanding sealer on some projects. If the Bowl is punky like this one, I load up the resin because it allows for a solid, useable surface. Many more coming soon!
