So I was watching a production stream by Drum & Bass producer and DJ: TC. He was doing some granular timestretching on a vocal and I made him this quick video to show how I do it inside Ableton without any third party effects. After I shared him the video, I figured it was actually a really nice quick tip that some of you on my channel might want to know about as well, so here it is! Hope you learned something.
prefer the metallic sound, you get when doing it the original way Akai sampler, you can use the Akaizer software with the rx950 plug in, i think even a akai sampler vst is out these days , very old vox technique used heavily in jungle n garage , but nice to see a easy way native to abelton to do it , its a mission and half doing it in fl studio
Probably Uhbik-G/Graindad, the pitch shifting plugin, since it has control over grain size. Remember you get reverse grains when selecting e.g. -1 on the scale knob.
What if one doesn't use Ableton... What if one uses Samplitude instead? How would one do that? I can't find a similar effect to use for my productions.
