Saturday May 24th, 2014 Watch as Norfolk Southern 7564 leading Amtrak's southwest chief #3 through Acacia ave. running over 7 hours late !!! Also, Amtrak Surfliners, Southwest Chief #4, and BNSF Freight trains.
I just got off 36 hours of Amtrak trains yesterday. I was on the capital limited and silver star. Boy is there a bunch of track that needs to be reworked...shake shake shake!
Just saw this. It was great seeing the old Raymond street crossing again. I live not too far from there and it's all tore up now, as they are building a new underpass.. There is a narrow shoofly crossing as Raymond has been temporarily rerouted around the construction.
Nicole Clark It is a raised letter K5LA on a P42DC, if you liked it, also that whoosh was the sound of moist being removed from pipes, an air compressor starting up, which only happens to GE locomotives. (The sound)
I never seen passenger trains, I only see alot of freight trains. Jesus! It is because I live in Anderson, Indiana, and you kept saying I did, this been like the first time I've seen a passenger train.

Not really, 6 axle freight locomotives are heavier than 4 axle streamlined locomotives. The ES40DC (the locomotive pulling the Amtrak) can only go at a top speed of 72-75 mph.

Not that rare actually, Ive seen them put BNSF and CN power on the front before. Its just an easier way to do a power move, or sometimes theyll loan units to each other as a thank you for track usage.
823 was involved in a wreck around the mid 2010s. After that, it sat at the Beech Grove Train Repairing Facility in Indiana on a storage track. But will eventually be scrapped.
This is further proof that the Genesis units are terrible at reliability. I guess Amtrak's been shunted by the freight boys as far as reliable diesel locomotives go, and they really should get a contract with GE for locomotives for their long haul trains.
Prolly broke down and Norfolk Southern loaner to keep sched....yrs ago the famed Union Pacific " Big Boy " a long retired steam engine ... pushed a broke down UP freight just outside of Cheyanne WY
That steam engine which pushed the stuck up train was the Union Pacific 844 she was doing a passenger train and hear the call so she pushed the freight up the hill the freights crew didn't know it as the stem engine pushing till after the fact shows steam engine aren't so obsolete after all
