VERY REALISTIC FIRST HORSE SHOW VLOG 

Seems crazy that after no one's been to shows for a few months they have the audacity to put a triple in an 80cm 😂😂😂

Khal is such a legend, always makes me happy to see him try so hard. And for his first show ever Dali truly did wonderful

I can't get over Dali. Even in the 80cm, it's clear how smart he is (the radar ears flicking as he takes everything in) and how much he trusts you. A few times he was clearly thinking 'ah, mum, I'm not sure about this- are you sure?' but he was such a good boy. Reminds me a bit of the first time I did cross country with my horse. On a few jumps he stopped directly in front of them (he was especially wary of ditches) but he trusted me enough to jump it eventually, even if a few times he had me hanging on for dear life. All the best of luck to you both going forward. Can't wait to see more, and love having your channel to get my horse fix now that I live in London (I miss riding so much!)

Dali is my favorite homebred of yours, I think you really have something special there...he has a natural ability and uses his body so well when he gets it. Looks like he’s going to be super fancy. Can’t wait to see his progress.

I can’t help it, I’ve got into this habit of praising the horses through my screen like they can actually hear me. I kept telling Dali what a good boy he was around the courses. Is anyone else a maniac like me? 😄

I once took a pony to a schooling show and he stopped at EVERY. SINGLE. FENCE during the first class, despite being comfortable o/f at home. But once he had a look at each fence, we circled back and he jumped them well. Thankfully the staff was really cool and let us school each fence (instead of dismissing us after the third refusal), in the spirit of a schooling show! His second class he acted like an old pro, we pinned first in the second, third, and flat, and took Reserve in the division. I think your handsome homegrown boy did AMAZING for his first time out (for real- for real) over fences- a testament to your breeding AND training, Holly. Thank you for taking us along for the ride! I notice both boys go in snaffles. That's nice to see... locally, I see a large percentage of jumpers going in leverage bits, even very young horses. I understand bitting up a horse when they have experience, training to be sensitive to seat and leg aids first, and are strong because they're a legged-up, fit athlete, but I think it's ridiculous how often I see young stock fitted with pelhams and gags as short cut method of installing power steering.

Dali did very well for his first ever show. I know I say this in every vlog, but I love him so much. He moves really well and he’s my kind of horse!! Khal is a machine, as always. Well done Holly!

I just love how you ride your horses - everything looks so feather-light and you can see how much both boys trust you even if they get a bit scared. And Khal...he just seemed to float-fly over the 110.

I'm so loyal to Kahl. I've been watching you develop him for years now - I'm emotionally invested in him :) He's so grown up here, and so GAME ON. I love it. He has learned so much. But Dali... wow. You did so well with Dali in that first round! It is one of the hardest things to let everything fall apart and to not get discouraged but keep the confidence up and support your horse. This was definitely a great first show

I felt like an expectant mother watching her baby jumping when Dali went round the first time, in fact I think I was willing him over the fences then second round he looked super, well done Dali 🌟. Khal was flying over those fences, what a lovely shape he's got, you've got two beautiful horses there Holly 🐱

Well done! Dali in the 90 seemed like he was getting the hang of it and getting more confident. I always forget how big he is too. That must have been interesting trying to move him around all those tight turns. I think he did incredible for his first show! Khal is so talented. He seems game to take on anything. I can’t wait to see next week’s show as I think it going to be incredible. It’s going to be a great show season! 💕

Well done to all of you! Khal showed very well in the 110, but I think you're correct. By the time the 120 came around, he was trying with all his heart for you, but his fitness wasn't quite there. Dali. Oh my goodness!! Trying him away from home gave him some confidence. Just needs more exposure to these types of show type situations. That second pass over the triple!! He figured out his stride, and just pinged over them like they weren't even there!! Slow and steady will build his confidence level. That and a lot of wet saddle pads!! Keeping in mind he is only 4 yrs old, I can't wait to see what he does in 2 yrs., when his growth plates fully tighten down on his bone!! Its funny to see how much it actually affects the horse to be somewhere else. Because whenever i have seen videos of Dali, he never looked like a 4 year old to me. Very well balanced and nice and calm, but in the 80 he looked like a 4 year old. A little uncertain, a little unbalanced and it was just because it was a new thing he had to try! But you know you got a good baby horse when he then does a 180 in the next class and is back to looking like he is 10 years old! Well done!

Loved seeing you and your boys! I’d enjoy a comparison video with Khal and Dahlis first show out, sort of first line/first oxer/first combination, I find it so interesting how horses develop and learn differently. Prepping for the show would be good too, so you ever braid?

This is so good! I hope to compete in the future xD my most successful show was when I was six and did a ‘dressage’ test on one of the lesson ponies. Yeh. By dressage I mean led around the arena once and a few rein changes. Came second though! That was fun.. I guess..

Raw eggs and Guinness were given to race horses years ago very often to give them protein and iron instead of the fancy expensive supplements!

Dali is so damn pretty. So is Khal. They both have some gorgeous genes! Both will be amazing jumping horses, I think Dali just needs to find his feet and needs to learn a bit of counting before a jump but of course hes still a baby, you are doing brilliantly with them both!
