Fantastic VID - Thank you. Today the weather is bleak, it is cold but in my heart I am in paradise, "a paradise for two" as it is the day I acquired a prestine unmarked 1963 Vespa GS 160, a scooter I was told I would never find!...... Hallelujah
Fantastic video. I just love the Vespa scooter - also Belle & Sebastian are one my fave bands, they come from a small town 30 miles from where I live in Edinburgh.
My first powered two wheeler was a 125cc Vespa 152L2. I paid £5 for it and rescued it from a scap yard. I tuned it up, converted it to 12volts (I designed the conversion myself) and trimed down the leg shields. The speedo needle then went all round the clock and back to the end stop. Thereafter I had hundreds of them and now I can rebuild an engine and gearbox from scratch without any manuals. My last one was a GS160 I had in 1985 and sold it for £350. I forgot to put the last 0 in the price.
@bellbottomtear tnx for the fast reply ;-) Great to know that , as i was looking for a nice vacation through europe with my vespa . I'll certainly go there and pass by at this museum ! :-)
Thanks for your comments. I was hoping this would allow viewers to see the museum. Yes please get your scooters back on the road as I would love to see them. Thanks, Jared
I had a Vespa when I was a kid. I paid $5, brought it home in a cardboard box and put it together. I never got it to run but it fired a couple of times.
eheh next time you'll come to italy you have to see the museum in Rovereto, near Trento (Trent). It's managed by Frisinghelli, one of the most important vespa experts in Italy (and probably in the world). Great video, dude!
What are the names of the songs you used? My wife would like to know. I would be in heaven there. I dont ride them but I love working on them. I just got done restoring a 150 Vespa. that little thing has some guts.
