Anyone know how to fix one of these? For years, this unit was my main digital delay/workhorse in my rack, for gigging. It's been sitting in the rack for a couple decades +, unplayed/unplugged in though and when I recently went to try it out (getting back into guitar), it is malfunctioning: basically, it usually sounds like this video does at 1:42, i.e. as if it has modulation applied (but it does this even if modulation is completely OFF and I"m just trying to use a basic delay repeat!). I can't find a place in my area that says they work on band rack gear. What part might go bad, just sitting in a closed rack for years -- a capacitor? I'm thinking it's prob not a complicated repair, but it ain't easy finding folks who are familiar with this kind of electronic equipment. I've also got one of those 70s "blueface" MXR digital delays -- one of the earliest digital delays made. It has its own sound: weirdly, kind of analog, actually. But Ive always loved my Vesta 411 -- it's just so crystal-clear sounding! Folks who know these units know how nice they were (nice-sounding, that is....otherwise they were kind of primitive: no digital readout screen, no programming possible, etc. I had white-out marks on it for the 2 or 3 main settings I used onstage, and controlled it with a basic stomp switch....worked great! These do show up on Reverb sometimes.

Ah cool. They made a fake stereo version in the 90s, called DDG-1, by Vestax. Table unit then, smaller, easier to carry, and 9V DC Boss style power socket. Does this one have a hold button? The DDG-1 does.

Yes, it has, guess these units have same circuits.

Definately the same components. I made a whole blog article on all those variations here: www.kliklak.net/blog/non-existing-delay-vestax-ddg-1

the sound is from ableton live plug in synth, operator. Vesta Kozo and Fire have no difference physically, I heard Vesta Kozo is the brand name for DJs, and Vesta Fire is the name for Musicians and Sound Producers.
