It's true that we may know a backup singers voice subconsciously and associate it with a certain singer. On that crap song by Berry Gordy's son Rockwell, "Somebody's Watchin' Me," Michael Jackson sang the background on the chorus. Or you can hear Luther Vandross on Stevie's "Part Time Lover," or Mariah Carey on old Brenda K Starr records.
