My dog is 13, she has been constipated for two days and doesn't want to eat because her stomach hurts. She wouldn't even eat a little lick of peanut butter. I've called 15 vets and no one will see her for at least two weeks. (I cannot afford an emergency vet my father (its his dog) won't contribute enough to get her to emergency. I was recommended by one vets office to give her just a little olive oil (1/2 teaspoon). I'm going to try the pumpkin puree, and the massage. I had to fight with my dad to get him to believe she was sick (he's convinced anytime she's ill that shes faking it for attention)- he wouldn't believe me last time she got sick and I had to borrow money from a friend to take her to the vet and she had a severe UTI.

@@RevivalAnimal Thank you sincerely for the quick response, very appreciated - our dog has been suffering we are not sure what is going on, one minute she is fine and the next minute panting, she ate some boneless chicken the other day and we thought she might have gas or constipation and this info helps greatly. My dog strains and strains and just pushes out sticky mush. and it clings to her so I have to remove it and then bathe her. she has a healthy appetite. I'll try the fiber. any other ideas for that particular situation?
I would recommend to add electrolytes to the drinking water and a little karo syrup can also help. I would also recommend a probiotic to help with digestion.
