Note: The Veterans Contorism Center in Washington , DC, legally represents veterans for FREE who need help getting your compensations claims into court and passed against the DVA. They connect you with a non for profit lawyer who help you with your court filed claim for fee. My claim took 3 years with them, I was awarded a claim for back pay for over $350,000 by the VA using this center for veterans needing help getting your claim in veterans court in DC, for, FREE! Contact them ASAP for help. Ok.
My 89 year old veteran dad was diagnosed with ALS in July. The VA has been absolutely wonderful. They have provided everything he needs and there will be more to come. He gets his first disability check in a few days.
The va is tough on all veterans declining claims left and right. All I can say is keep claiming and appealing and eventually you will get something out of it besides a headache.
Have you tried free legal claims help from the veterans consortium in Washington , DC. They link you with a free lawyer who helps you in veterans court, get all the money the DVA owes you. Took me 3 years with them for anxiety claim, i was awarded, over $350,000 in DVA back pay using them. Ok. Good luck!
I was granted service connected compensation at 0% [ non compensable ] so I use the non service connected VA pension program that qualifies me for health care enrollment and provides eyeglasses & vision exams at no cost ; not long ago there were policy changes that made hearing & vision care available to almost all vets - check that out for details . If you're low income see if you qualify for ' wartime ' pension program [ possibly with housebound or aid & attendance benefits for additional money ] . VA does not promote the pension program but it helps me a lot . I am very grateful for this help . Got glasses before I was service connected but was enrolled in VA healthcare & pension .
It's important to file your DD214 with the county clerk in your home of record. You can then get a notarized copy any time you need. When you get your replacement, file it with your county clerk.
In 1960 I was honorable discharged after 4 years service. I was not told I had any VA health benefits. Later my Mom, a VA nurse, said nothing. 1970-96 I worked for DoD as a civil servant. No one mentioned any VA benefits entitlement. It wasn't until 2012 that a new friend asked and then took me to a VA office and got me enrolled. Now I'm in priority group 3 (10% disability). Even thou my private health insurance helps pay my VA health care, I found VA's pharmacy didn't know that (why??) and charged me co-pays. Question: When was the earliest date I was eligible to enroll? I bet I missed out a lot of years. Thank you.
Contact the White House DVA Hot Line, in Washington , DC and ask them to assist you. They have live DVA advocates who assist you, veterans, by phone. Ok.
The VA told me to go on disability when I was 48 due to severe neuropathy at 50 I had to have a hard transplant but I could not get any disability because I did not serve one day I served 5 and a 1/2 years plus something's not right
How come you don't mention Vietnam era vets. I served 1960 to 1980. I do have a service connected disabilty at 0%. Include those who served in WWII, Korea and Vietman.
She said if you haven't recieved a "dishonorable discharge"... you mean if your discharge isn't under "dishonorable conditions". There is a difference.. You need to have a discharge under honorable condition. This mean "general, under honorable" or an "honorable". No OTH or under.
Marcus Maddox No what she is correct. If you re-enlisted then you should have honorable discharge which could qualify you and even if you are other than honorable doesn’t necessarily bar you either.
One other thing to say yes I lost all my hearing above yeah I'm 30%. Hear me never get better they get worse but they still give you a hard time to upgrade from 30% to higher why it's such a low block
So because I’ve never once been told about this by the VA, and my last rating happened 5 years ago yet I’m @ 100%, I’m SoL on getting this life insurance? This is rough, I feel like the VA has failed me yet again….
If I am totally and permanently disabled service connected through V.A and my spouse has become seriously disabled, is there any added benefit I can or should apply for based on her inability to work or function daily as she once did. Now I do get A&A compensation also but I use that to pay a woman who cares for both of us with a lot of our daily functions. Of course the amount I get doesn't cover all this expense but it does help.
When I left the military I had Honorable and Bad Conduct discharges,,, now I have two OTHER THAN HONORABLE Discharges...trying to upgrade % is an ongoing fiasco...
Contact the veterans consortium center in Washington , DC. They link veterans with lawyers for FREE that help you get your VA claim in the veterans law court system in DC. They work for veterans for free as the center is run by former veterans that are now lawyers who help veterans with all types of Militay compensation issues. Usually takes them 2-3,years to settle a court case in your favor. Once your court claim is pushed by the DVA veteran law court to hurry up and end. Remember this. Ask the court system through your lawyer for , A MOTION OF STAY. This means, you need more time to collect paper work, to strengthen your claim case for compensation. It gives you more time to get together more proof for you against the DVA so you can win your court case. You can ask for a motion of stay 2 to 3 times, before a veterans law judge descides to end your claim for you, usually not in your favor, but in favor of the DVA. So, always beat them to the punch by asking for more time. Called, a motion of stay. Works when used in ANY US court system, in ANY state in the USA! Ok. Good Luck!
I came out with a other than honorable discharge an I started smoking when I came in the army an got hooked to the nicotine, had chest pains but continue because of the youngness an peers..was in for 9 1/2 yrs, have medical due to the first 6yrs an part of the last 3 yrs, had my knee operated on in Walter reed hospital fort dix...then I was discharge sometime after that..had 7 heart attack after I got out, but still struggle to work, where my last job was July or August 2010, I haven't worked since, was on disability, now s .security, can I confirm a application for unemployment?
Contact your local state chapter of Vietnam Veterans or contact the White House Hot Line in Washington, D.C., Ask them for a veteran services advocate, explain your need to him and they WILL answer you within 10 to 21 days, GURANTEED! Or, contact your local state congress person or state senator for help locally and or in Washington , DC, too. Both locations, WILL reply by letter, by phone from a local federal building DVA advocates office to help assist you. Ok. Good luck!
Press them. Keep calling. Eventually you'll get to talk to someone who can help speed things up. But keep in mind covid has really jacked their ability to put manpower on tasks.
Took them two years to decide on my case. Kept having to go see different Drs and such. But once it was decided they figured a date and gave me back pay based on that date. They were fair about it.
Normally 2 to 3 years. To get much better help, go to your local state office of veteran services and get a personal counselor to work with to help you speed up your claim for compensation . The state office of veteran services has a much smaller claims case load so they get your claim done much faster than local DvA centers. Ok, good luck!
Do you have anything on the Camp Lejeune contaminated water study? And is there any compensation available for that? Honorably Discharged Marine! Respectfully submitted
The Camp Lejeune ACT of 2012 implented by President Obama has many benefits that are helpful and now that is being updated for 2022. You should be able to get assistance through one of the VSOs, I use DAV, but belong to the American Legion and Texas Vets, you have choose the one you want to use to represent you. " NO CHARGES" ever.
I filed for SSD and VA benefits over 12 years .I did not use an attorney, VSO or any type of outside help. I was granted 100% in 3 months from the VA the first time and then I applied for SSD and was approved in less than 2 months. All of these people charge fees for there advice. I will get you connected for nothing. Hit me up. Also....I am service connected for over 10 conditions now and receive smc and my spouse is my caregiver. I served in combat in Iraq. This guy and VA claims insider are just making easy money.
I have been getting denied for dental care even though I have a total 80%; 70% compensable rating. My rating includes the teeth that were damaged yet I have been denied care for this. I incurred out of pocket expenses after being denied when one of the teeth broke and I was denied care at the VA. I had to seek emergency dental care. I am now in month 7 of trying to get reimbursed and the procedure completed.
@@T_bone I would take the VA Rating paperwork-that shows the Teeth (Dental) Service connection ratings to the Customer Service office/Patient Advocate at your local VA hospital. Tell them you would like to apply for dental care for those teeth that are S/C'd. Before the VA Dental Clinic would see me, I had to go through them. It took about 5 minutes for them get everything correct and they then sent me directly to the Dental Clinic.
I have 30% disability for losing some of my hearing in the military trying to get up to 40 50 60% but it's such a wall block that they keep on turning me down and it's meant to be that way how can I overcome that
Ed Styer I know how you feel, I’m at 90%. It’s taken over 12 years, still battling. And, should have really filed 15 years prior to the start of the 12 years. No one told me about how to file, including the VA, while I was being seen by the VA all those years !! Free money for the VA, while I was suffering.
@@akeemthegreat1700 you theoretically can if you make less than 12K a year, but that doesn't mean that you are deemed as unemployable by the VA. TDIU is for people who cannot work due to their disabilities
I am a disabled vet I was medically discharged from the military in 1988 which states on my DD 214 but the military lost my medical records and when I try to claim they say I need proof how can I receive medical benefits if the military lost my medical records but they clearly see I was medically discharged And each time I file I am denied how can you help me with this?
Contact the DVA Records Archive Center in Washington , DC for a DD-214 or ANY of your military records or go online and fill out a request from from any of your records from the Records Archives Center, they mail them to veterans, for FREE!. Get it done for free from, ANY local state veteran services center in any US state, too. Ok. Good Luck!
I have a total of 30% comp rating, 10% of it is for tinnitus and I had a s/c for hearing loss with 0% rating that on retesting was Raised to 10% but this did not increase my total rating or comp level and I do not Know why, can you tell me why? thank you
Physical Eval Board is part of your military records. Contact the National Personal Records Center @ St. Louis (Archives.gov). They have the form to fill out and request a copy of your PEB. Used to be it took about 30 days-but that was before corvid...
Can 100% disable veteran servive conneced qualify GI bill or va paid veteran univerty studies I have ask a lot this question: Veteran Affairs said since 100% dissability don't qualify other said yes? what's the answer
As a 100% myself, the answer is no. The reason is because we are totally disabled and there for we are considered unemployable. If you loose the rating, then the answer is yes. P.S.--You qualify free dental care at the VA.
@AntoniaSaldana, for more information about the GI Bill, our blog may be able to provide you the answers you are looking for here:cck-law.com/blog/the-post-9-11-gi-bill-explained/
As an additional note, I was in the VA's Chapter 31 (?)(Been a few years ago) Rehab training when I received my IU 100% P&T. I was immediately disenrolled from the program.
@@CCK_Law My error on not mentioning the GI Bill. Under the old GI Bill, one had 10 years from discharge to use it. Which is what I fell under. Since the old GI Bill is long gone, I just ignored the GI Bill part.
Hello! Priority Group One is the highest priority group. In order to be placed in this group, you will need to be service-connected at 50 percent or more, or be receiving total disability based on individual unemployability (TDIU). Additionally, veterans who received the Medal of Honor qualify for Priority Group One.
1-877-222-8387 call VA ask them to re-send your VA health benefits handbook. Note that there is personal info in this handbook including your name, your priority group and your specific benefits. This handbooks are tailored to you, and is not the same benefits or same handbook content as everyone else.
Hi! Thank you for the information. I have a quick question. I read online through a couple of web sights that if your 100% disabled you don't have to pay toll road. Is this true?
Need help getting your claim filed sooner. Go to your local state office of veteran services, file the claim with them. They expedite claims faster because they have a smaller case load than the DVA offices. You must be rated from 0 to 100% + to get compensation from the DVA. The BEST way to beat the system: Each claims service center has an assigned psychologist who works for the compensation claims board members. He determines via 1 or 2 letters he writes for you that he and you summit together the board that helps gurantee you the board will rule in your favor for VA compensation money. Find out who this doctor of psychology is, set an appointment with him and in short simple words, tell him wat you want him to do for you to get the board to approve your compensation claim, and if your paper work, your medical records that he reads before your appointment day convinces him the DVA owes you claim compensation, then your money is about 95% guranteed! Ok. From a veteran of advocate hard knocks of over 38,years VA, Veterans Law experience, who, personally tell all veterans, HOW to get your money from the VA, much sooner, much easier! Good Luck!
@Dawn Peterson, thank you for reaching out. Our office gets involved in the appeals stage of a claim meaning we help once VA denies a claim. If you are seeking help with an initial claim, we recommend working with a Veteran Service Organization (VSO), such as our colleagues at the Disabled American Veterans(DAV). They can be reached at (859)441-7300
#1--You can request them from the National Personnel Records Center (NPRC) at St. Louis. Google them and they will even have the form to request them from. #2--Used to be able to visit your Regional Office (VA) and get them in person. But not sure if you can still do this. Call your RO first before going down to them.
Contact the DVA records archive center in Washington, DC. All veteran service records are kept here. Ask any local DVA office for their 1800 number or google search their address online where you can fill out forms to get copies of your military records sent to you for free by the DVA Archives center in Washington, D.C. Good luck! Also, any local veteran service center in your state area helps you get the copies for you. Just visit a local state center and a vets center rep does the paper work for you. Ok.
I went to one of the VA health care places .After the Obamma push for everyone to have a primary care ..It just turned out to be mostly a pill pushing operation...As for my classes I got ..They was so damn heavy they hurt your face and they only took me 7 months to get them .And many trips 85 miles away for each stage ..Is n't that wonderful ? And if you go there they will find something wrong that requires pills ...I felt fine but they argued that to be in good health I needed them. After 3 different prescriptions . all of wich made me sick.. and piles of pills that I could n't afford .I just quit messing with them and now I feel fine again. Death benefits? really.? You going to come back from the dead and jump through some hoops then prove something,,,Joke after joke.
I usually would ignore people ranting about nothing. But your ranting here makes you and every veteran's assistance seekers look like fools and ingrates to the government. The government and the VA people are doing excellent work for the veterans!!! If you don't like VA giving you pills because they care and they want your good health, PLEASE DO NOT ENROLL IN VA, go to others that you like and won't give you pills, ok. If they give you pills and don't like them, don't take them, ok. DO NOT GIVE THE WHOLE VA BAD NAME BECAUSE THEY ARE WORKING HARD FOR YOU!!! Nonsense! I am a veteran and I love the VA for they take excellent care of me!!!!!!
