I love Bobby! Just heard that he passed away and I’m so glad you got this interview! The first song that I ever learned to sing was Rocky Top. My Dad had every Osborne Brothers albums and he taught me to sing Rocky Top when I was four years old! I had the pleasure of meeting Bobby in Summersville West Virginia and he was a mighty fine man. I actually had moved to South Carolina and I got very sick and my mom went to one of his shows and she told Bobby that I was sick and he asked my Mom to call me and he talked to me! He told her if he didn’t have somewhere else that he would have come to see me! I have been crying and I am very sad that he’s gone but there is no doubt he’s in heaven singing with the angels!

I met Sonny and Bobby at that same festival several years in a row, they both were very kind and would talk to their fans, Sonny even let me play a few notes on his banjo one year. so sad to think they both are gone, when I was a kid learning banjo I studied Flatt & Scruggs intently and my dad gave me my first Osbourne Brothers record and said you might also like these guys, I've listened to them ever since!

Yeah, RIP Bobby. It'd be neat to see my Dad jammin with him in heaven cuz my Dad played Bluegrass and Country and my Dad was in the Korean War as a Sargent. But, I loved hearing Rocky Top since the 70's. And loved one of his last songs, "I just gotta get a message to you. " And loved the Ruby song. My condolences to all his friends and family. 🙏

I`ve been a metalhead since the early 80s and even I was absolutely riveted to Mr. Osborne`s musical career stories, the history surrounding bluegrass/country,the Grand Ol` Opry, etc.(I wonder if he had any interaction with Elvis, having spent so much time in Tennessee),let alone his military adventure in Korea.......Thank you and GOD Bless.
