I have a cat right now that's going through lymphoma issues and I've never had to deal with any of this before and I have to say that every time I deal with a veterinarian they always have something bad to say and it's always Doom and gloom. I gave my little girl the benefit of the doubt that I've been having with vets and have been forging ahead with her proper diagnosis and treatments and I am in complete total uncharted Territory in my life with this and these videos are definitely a source of comfort and information that have helped me feel a lot better and giving me a lot of Hope. Thank you for the awesome videos! I'm catching up on as many as I can. You mentioned that prednisone can have an anti-cancer effect for certain types of cancers. Is it useful in any way for inoperable hepatocellular carcinoma in a dog; such as to slow its spread or as an anti-inflammatory or to provide some relief?
Sorry, just seeing this. No it is not known to have an anti-cancer effect. An anti-inflammatory effect is different if the tumor is causing inflammation maybe as it is affecting the tissues is it growing in. This can still be of benefit to a patient but it is not an anti-cancer effect like lymphoma or mast cell tumor. I do not usually use pred for yoour dog's cancer but please talk to your vet or a cancer specialist. Good luck! xo

Hi Dr Sue 😊 I was just wondering how long dogs are typically kept on steroids or treated with steroids with B cell, or what the general dosage frequency would be? Also, at what point would you know its nearing the end for the dog without the dog getting to the point of pain rather than discomfort..without the fear of letting go to early?
It depends on if the dog is also being treated with chemo and which chemo protocol. What dose is safe for cats and how do you tapper them off prednisone. Do you need to tapper if they are on a low dose of about 1mg daily for about 10 days days?

Hello, just a quick question. My cat has been diagnosed with lymphoma. She has tumors in her gi track, mostly colonic tumors. She is on dexamethasone instead on prednisolone. Does it have the same effect? Should i have her switched back to prednisolone? She is also taking alprazolam, lactulose, and cisapride. Someone told me to try her on pet CBD, Colloidal Silver and NHV lymphoma treatment as a last shot effort. Not too sure how smart that would be. Her last appointment, they couldn't even give her an enema. It kept pouring out. Your thoughts? 😢😢😢
my cat was diagnosed w cancer. she has had weight loss, lack of appetite, hard, small pellet poos and general discomfort. i didn't pay for the xrays or bloodwork since my vet said he'd be treating her the same either way. she is somewhere between 16-20yrs old. thet gave her a steroid shot tues and 2 weeks of oral prednisone. does the prednisone have any positive effects on the cancer?
