Veterinary treatment of grapes and raisin poisoning/toxicity in dogs 

My chihuahua/Min Pin Mix ate 4 grapes. I called the vet and took him to ER. They induced vomiting and only 1 grape came up. They took baseline labwork and sent me home with instructions to return the next day.The vet took labwork and there were elevated blood results. He was hospitalized-hooked up to IV, and he’s been in the hospital 2 days. Waiting for him to come home. 😢

Hello. My 18 week old Labrador retriever, Nala, got into a small bag of trail mix with raisins. It also had chocolate and she also got into a Twix bar. The docs aren’t too worried about the chocolate but are concerned about the raisins. My friend was watching Nala for me while I went to the store for a couple of hours. I got home to realize that she ate those things and called pet poison control and brought her to the ER. They made her throw up but they don’t know if they got it all up. They’re keeping her for 4 nights to monitor, flush the kidneys, labs, and other things. Is she going to be okay? Was it caught early enough to be okay?

My 112 lb Labrador ate two grapes that were in a fruit cocktail. He consumed No other fruit or fluid. Vet recommended 8 oz of Hydrogen Peroxide. I used a syringe 20 minutes after eating the 2 grapes. My Lab threw up all his food from 2 hours prior. His Lunch kibble He vomited 6 times in total. My vet recommend I monitoring at home. Does this sound like good advice? He felt because I acted so quickly and due to the size of my dog.

its not the grapes its the pesticides . ive been eating frozen grapes for breakfast for over 8 month and i feed them to my 2 dogs everyday . they love them and are fine. i also soak my grapes in baking soda for at least 15 minutes to neutralize the pesticides. and i give them something regularly to neutralize heavy metals . and their health is pretty good. karen Becker has a good video about rasins and how it wasnt a problem before they started using pesticides.

Hi my 40 pound dog at like 4 oatmeal raisin cookies, is he going to be ok? It’s been 4 hours, and he has not thrown up. I asked my mom to take him to the vet and she said only if he had symptoms. I’m realy scared and I don’t know what to do.

My dog ( 15 pounds) had eaten a handful of Santana grapes and that is what they found after inducing vomiting within the hour (around 20 grapes). He also received a treatment of charcoal. He has no symptoms except for developing a new fear of vets. Is there a difference between grape color? There is a slight increase in the phosphorous or calcium levels since ingestion in my dog's blood test (but still in normal range). Do you recommend I have him hospitalized with IV fluids or just have him tested in a few days to see if the increase continue? Do I have to make sure the vet tests USG test before the IV fluids are given or is your recommendation only for subcutaneous fluid treatment?
