This was the context as written to Vevor support, whom are polite but no real outcome yet and the repeatedly decline to take the unit back:
Hello
I went to check on my ultrasonic machine and the room was filled with smoke. I turned off the power then had to grab a fire extinguisher and mask just to breathe - there was smoke pouring out of the vents on the side. I could only take a video once I got the smoke down low enough for me to safely be around it. The walls need to be washed and I had to have a shower and change my clothes from the smoke. • 2 year old VEVOR Ultra...
I wanted to let you know of this major fault.
Secondly there is also a technical problem in your website. My logged in profile shows the order but when I try submit a support ticket it says email address not found.
The ultrasonic machine was being used as I normally would - about 1/4 full of water, temp set to 40'c only and a PCB in there for cleaning.
I left the room for 6 minutes only - that is all it took for there to be some internal fire. Again the smoke was extreme.
I think I would like a replacement unit.

These have a heating element wrapped around the tank. Looks like it had thermal run away from the temp sensor being disconnected. I would try unplugging the heating element from the board and plugging the temp sensor back in and seeing if it will clean again. I had a knockoff vevor ultrasonic cleaner from ebay that did this, although it didnt get hot enough to change the metal color. I still use it 2 year later.

if you pause right around 8:03 you can see an empty 2 pin connector on the front display.

Looks like the thermal probe has fallen off. Check which board the fan is connected to and chances are that's where the header is for the thermal probe. The circuit may be in protection mode keeping it from operating since it doesn't see a thermal probe connected. Hope you sort things out or just have it checked and fixed locally.

That's why the fan is not coming on. No thermal couple then it has no idea how hot it is. So it's running away temperature with no limiter.

I would think the temp sensor would plug into the control board on the front panel. Without that sensor I would expect thermal runaway of the heater.
