Hey Daniel. This item has been on my list of things to get for to many years now, LOL. Mostly Why I decided to just buy one and be done with it. @@weldmachine I bet it will end up working really well for you, only thing holding me back on buying one and a few other things is space, bought a cnc mill last month and lost like 40% of my usable space.

We all Love a New Toy to play with, lol. But this one comes with the added bonus of me being able to pull it apart and make it better. Well that,s the theory at least. Today i already have it in pieces for further planning. Looking forward to posting Part 2. Hopefully soon.

Hey Dave. I would not mind to do this as a sell able kit. But with the amount of work involved not sure anyone would want to pay extra for the sake of a through bore conversion. I should finish up with around 200 - 250 mm from the face of the chuck, with a 42 mm bore. They only way i could make it a full through bore is with a larger drive unit. As you would have seen in the video, the drive shaft size is fairly small. But it will a great unit once it,s finished. Looking forward to posting a video of the finished job. Thanks for watching. The copper block / earth contacting the surface plate was a concern for me also ??? It was one of the first things i noticed when looking at what to do with the through bore modification. I will machine this surface off when i know the final position of the surface plate once i remount it back again. Because with the through bore mod, i have also lowered the centre height a small amount to fit the larger ball bearing, which i will show in the next video. If you watch the next video you will see all the modifications. ( So Far ?? LOL. Maybe more to do later ???? )

Hey Joseph. It's not a high use item but it does come in handy for certain jobs. Much more useful now after modifying it with a large thru bore.

That's true. It's the passion for keeping busy i guess. Never a bad thing if you are doing something useful with your time. It's good that we can find something that gives us a drive to do more. It sounds silly. But find something you can't do then work out how to make it work. This theory definitely keeps me happy and a little frustrated at times, LOL.

I guess it's a case of each to there own ? What ever works for your application is the best thing for you to buy. This video was posted for those who want more information about this type of Positioner. It wasn't meant to be a comparison of which is the best ???? I did talk about the advantages of this version vs the Flat pack version ? Its free information it cost nothing to watch except if you put a dollar value on watching RU-vid. Did you buy a what ever brand Flat Pack Positioner yourself ?

Lucky for you to score the positioner in the deal. The positioner is actually a fairly good unit for the price. Definitely worth holding onto it. You might not use it much but then again you might too. They make life a little easier for rotational work. I am sure after you use it you will think why did i have one before.

IF you watch the other videos in the series it will answer most of your questions and possibly some you haven't thought of. Also if you read Replies to Comments most questions have been covered. Answer to your questions. Yes. 50 Kg Model. How many Amps will it take ? I can't recall the Advertised Recommended Amps ?? From memory ?? I think it's Rated to around 250 Amps. Any link i could give you might not help ?? I brought this Positioner from a local reseller, not directly from the manufacturer. Is It Worth It ? I do have a few more videos posted that might help answer that question. ?? Max Amperage ? I can not recall the exact amperage rating but it should be more than enough for pretty much all types of general welding. If you look on ebay there should be a few similar listed that would give you some idea. I did find an electrical fault with it. If you are interested to buy maybe worth watching the other videos so you can get a better idea of what you are buying. Hope the information helps.

Semi Retired Machine Shop I thinking a link to this particular product, so I can check the parameters on their website. As for the amperage that’s main concern as from what I’ve seen these Chinese positioners are rated to around 100-150A which is quite low . I’ve seen other videos but was wondering if you think it’s a good buy to this day or if you would’ve recommend something else, different model, type

@@rixogtr NO amperage rating shown for this Positioner. The only information they provide is the weight capacity only. NO other information is shown. If you have watched my latest video about this positioner you would have seen the electrical problem i found. Other than that it has been great. NO dramas at all since doing this modification. I have welded with this positioner at over 250 amps with a MIG. If you are wanting to buy with more confidence maybe this positioner is not for you. But if you want to buy a positioner that will do the job you want then this one might suit. As mentioned if you are concerned either way you need to work out if it will suit you or not. Maybe the flat pack version you drive with a cordless drill might suit better ??

This style of Welding Positioner that are available on ebay are much the same as each other. There is one manufacturer but like most products, multiple sellers . It,s a case of deciding what size you want to buy ? This is the 120 watt version which is the largest for this size table. I did mention in one of the two video,s the difference between the sizes available. Unfortunately i don,t have any link available to the one shown in the video. Best to go on ebay and look at the different sizes available and decide which one would suit you. All the best. Peter.
