Maxing out skills with such an early season robot and a run that could (although quite efficient) be more efficient is kind of disappointing from a game development stand point. Good job though!
@@ethanbrimhall7806 actually they're three-time state champions (maybe three times skills and a few excellence but I'm not sure). While they are a very high-level team with I'm sure a talented driver, they managed to max out skills with a relatively simple robot and with a few mistakes during the run. While we probably won't see a lot of teams be maxing out skills, I'm sure that all high-level as well as much of the mid-level teams will be able to do this early on with enough practice.
Yes they are a very good team. I have to face them no since I am going into high school. I went against them in two mixed tournaments. The fist one they destroyed us and in the second. Because of the roller most of the time not working we won. You can check the robot I had if you look up 8778z. I’m not sure if that was the exact robot when we faced him the second time but it was pretty close. They are also not a school registered team so they have a lot more time than literally like very one else as well because they can kind of do it whenever. While our school is closed up.
I think Vex purposely did that in order to increase the emphasis on auton. If most robots can max out driver, it's going to come down to auton in skills. In the normal matches, auton bonus carries a big weight to it as well, not to mention the extra win point for completing the home row
If you can max out driver it’s quite easy to max out auton. You can use a recording code or just spend a couple weeks programming. There was also a max score skills run using a claw bot although it was done using the online app but still it will be quite easy.
Dang these guys out here flexing on the entire vex community while we haven’t touched our robot in two months and won’t even have a new game next year 😔
I just wrote 11 pages worth of scratch paper on how to build a robot like this, your bot is so amazing, and I just wanted to see what it's like to build and play around with, keep up the good work!
Coming from the perspective of someone in FTC, this game looks super fun despite the simplicity some complain about due to all the robot interaction that's bound to occur, goodjob! The robot looks awesome!
Robot definition "a machine capable of carrying out a complex series of actions automatically, especially one programmable by a computer". Surely that's just a radio controlled device ?
Mainly because of its lack of strength, possibility of breaking, its small but it can happen, and in the finals match what can happen will so we figure it’s best just to remove the variable
Can someone tell me how they made the ramp stay the same angle at 1:30 because I'm new to robotics and want to try this out (Also it kind of looks like magic)
The VEX season legitimately starts when a competitions in your region appear, but usually people describe their timelines like- early season, meaning the time between when the new game was released throughout the end of September. Mid-season being October- January-ish. Late season being February- the time worlds starts. Again this is just my view on the time of seasons starting, from what I know, once the coronavirus issue has been cleared of, the season will start off as usual I believe.
