only need 1 motor and some gears to connect the sprockets together

Add gears so you only have to use one motor and make them closer together

That’s a good idea to move them closer but the problem with one gear is that they would overheat faster. When they draw too much current they stop working for a couple of seconds and that’s very costly. Also with Y cords the extra motor isn’t a problem. Thanks for the idea of moving em closer tho!

Wouldnt it be a pain to lift that mechanism high up into the air trying to stack 10+ cones? Especially mobile bases and fixed bases too?

Yeah you are probably right, it was just a prototype to try out different ideas on how to score cones.

do you have a plan on picking up knocked over cones? Some teams are making bots that intentionally tip cones so the other team is screwed

Team 7282A: THE AUTOFLASHES I think he's suggesting it will work better if they were closer. I think the cones would be gripped more firmly because there would be more flex in the band, which will hold the cone better when moving
