I love your guys' design, i have one thing i would like to suggest. Maybe you guys can put a 2 wide C channel across the back of your mobile goal lift to keep the mobile goal more stable while holding it.
I see you used a VEX ClawBot kit claw. Aside from the rubber band connecting the two halves, did you make any other modifications to the claw, as in take out the spring or something?
No sir. We simply have the rubber bands attached to each side of the claw. Also, however, the claw is hinged that allow us to begin the match within the size restriction and then let out when the match starts. To help keep the claw fixed when it is out, we also have rubber bands running from the claw to a screw on the back of the c-channel that holds the claw. Other than the hinge and rubber bands the structure of the claw itself was not changed.
I saw that you have eleven motors. I was wondering how you used all of those eleven motors. Did you somehow put one motor in the digital or analog or something else?
If I may ask, how did y’all constrain the claw on your lift to stay elevated? What did you restraint or un restraint on how you got the claw to stay horizontal while the lift was in sequence? I can’t visually imagine how it was made. I’d kindly appriciate a reply from anyone that may help me to this problem. 😁
The whole claw piece is connected to a sprocket which is connected by chain to a sprocket on the main arm structure. The sprocket on the arm however is bored through so it does not rotate with the shaft while the gears turn.
which lift? mobile base or claw claw: using gears, the thingy can flip both sides and because of a stationary gear with a chain connected to the other gear same size, the outer gear is also stationary. With the gear screw holes, you can install a claw. Do not forget the Mobile base: it is this sketch.io/render/sk-aa364cd9559cc93acf4a80d0947bbc04.jpeg srry im a bad artist. i hope this helps.
The dimensions are the same as high school. 18" x 18" x 18" and you can not extend 48" x 48" in length or width but it was be as tall as you want. I hope y'all do well.
