We needed to post a video for our semester final so here’s a climber concept idea. This will not acually work so if you use the idea, don’t holecount it bc you will be severely disappointed lol.

Maybe consider High strength conversion (meaning High strength: Gears, Axles, Spacer, Collars, and flex wheel adapter) it may help with your concept.

Interesting idea.... would like to see an improved version in match play, but great concept seems to have a lot of possibilities for success in matchplay

I had a very similar idea but will graduate this year so I cannot use it. I will say your flex wheel skipping is because you are using the smaller and thinner flex wheels. If you try and use a larger black flex wheel you should be able to drive up with no problem. Another thing is instead of using a motor to lock onto the bar as a tensioner, consider using a pneumatic locking clamp. They were very big in Tipping point to grab the goals and when your motors kill at the end of a match the locking mechanism will keep you attached.

oh I didn't even think about the motors getting turned off at the end of the match, yea I might have to reconsider hmmmmm how to design the claw mechanism I have

Maybe have a piston to extend out the wheels to keep tension on the pole?

In our tests of a similar concept, the weight of the robot locks it in place without a locking mechanism
