This is an intake prototype for VEX V5 Over Under, this design’s aim is to be able to pick up balls quickly, however there are some flaws that you might want to be aware of. Firstly, this design could be improved, you can add flex wheels to increase pickup speed and also add a motor which folds the intake out of the robot to be able to pickup the balls from the matchloads zone.

Could you list all the parts used. Great design btw

No. Just kidding hahaha, we used 6 30t sprockets, 2 60t gears (size doesnt matter), and some metal parts that you have, the size is really flexible depending on how you position it. Hope this helps

may i ask it looks like it trembling does it cause a problem ? or when u sticked it to the robot it going to be dont tremble? im kinda new soo i dont know how it works

i see, well from what i can tell in the video the wobble comes from the fact he is not using bearing flats for a few of the shafts which causes the shaft to spi n in the c channel hole and metal to metal will cause vibration. However, a shaft might not be doing all that so it could be a lack of support and if it was on a robot it should perform better due to it being supported more than just one hand.

Basically what the comment above said. We didn’t use any retainers since it’s just a quick prototype, so it’s quite wobbly and if you use it for a long time it might carve out and damage the beam, so I recommend adding a bearing flat to make it more stable.

What type of rubber bands are you using?
@LoverOfGrass
@LoverOfGrass Год назад
I use the #64 silicone rubber band, but I’m pretty sure the thinner ones work fine with this design

does it work with the ball that's initially in the match load zone?

You can build a folding intake where you attach the intake to an arm, but I think there are better designs and rubber sprockets placements if you want to use it for that purpose.

How will this fit on the chassis?
@LoverOfGrass

Short answer: it doesn’t, long answer: this model is kind of a prototype that we might use it’s concepts to adapt to our future intake designs. We might have a video of the drivetrain mounted intake coming out soon.
