O crux ave spes unica ☩ Hail the Cross, our only hope! Blessed Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross ✝️ (Sept 14). May the Spirit of God strengthen the baptised to bear our crosses fauthfully, and lead more souls to follow Christ the King, especially Jews & Samaritans.
Abroad the regal banners fly, Now shines the Cross's mystery; Upon it Life did death endure, And yet by death did life procure. Ephesians 1:7-8: In Christ and through his blood we gain our freedom, the forgiveness of our sins. Such is the richness of the grace which he has showered on us.
Beautiful Latin pronunciation of an ancient hymn, Axios! Nice to see your church moved the "hamburger stand" out of the way so that the high altar can be seen.
silibantatious: I am very pleased indeed to have found this video that you have uploaded to RU-vid. For the reasons see my comment below. Thank you very much indeed - have a very happy Easter...
I believe this is for Good Friday NOT Holy Thursday. I vividly recall the priest in procession with the Sacred Species from the Holy Thursday altar of repose back to the main altar for the Mass of the Presanctified on Holy Friday!!!!
originally yes, but this version, which is the version written around the Renaissance (based on the oral transmission of creation written in the 6th century), can be accompanied by the organ which had appeared and which had become a rather common instrument in Catholic religious songs.
