The best rough water riding boat I've ever been in. I fished the ABA Open at Lake Okeechobee and it was absolutely gassing. Blew 20-30 mph out of the NE. The best boat to be in for these kind of situations.

cameras don't do justice. if u look at the very end of the frame towards the end they are 2.5 on average for the biggest waves I'd say. still not a rough test though being I live on erie.

It's a bass boat. It's interesting to see bass boats get deeper and deeper. Pretty soon, there will be no difference other than top cap layout.

That's only like a 1ft - 1.5ft chop. Thanks for posting a video though. Would you believe all the people who say that Champion and Phoenix are the best rough water boats have never posted a single video of either boats running anything but calm water? I'd venture to say Vexus is a better rough water boat than both of those brands.
@kgfishing1
@kgfishing1 4 года назад
Nytron thanks for watching the video. I can’t speak for a champion but I’ve been in a lot of Phoenix boats and this is significantly better rough water ride. Phoenix has it in overall speed but the air ride seats in the Vexus are really something you need to experience.

here in Ohio a guy has a Phoenix I fish wish occasionally and my 2180 is hands down superior. Especially in chop

@@bigbeef8935 Hmm, what model Phoenix specifically? I'd think the Phoenix would be slightly better in rougher water than the aluminum Vexus models, but maybe not.

This water is as rough as you’d want to run any boat on plane. Give the guy a break, lol. No one is going over 20mph on the Great Lakes in “rough” water unless you’re on a barge
@finmanpoozie4756
@finmanpoozie4756 3 года назад
I disagree. Bass boat & I might agree. Any deep-v could haul butt on a 1-2' chop that's in the 20' range (I own a 20' deep-v- 3 footers are no biggey, not comfortable but def no biggey)

Kyle, Just got done watching the video, thnx for posting it. A Vexus is most likely gonna be my next boat. Curious why you went with the VX 20 & not the 21? Also, you showed 70-72 mph @ the beginning of it in the captions. Is that the top speed out of your setup? Thou it didn't look too super bad (did see some white caps, & have seen it, & been out on Okeechobee in worse), I can't imagine that's what you were running in those conditions?
@kgfishing1
@kgfishing1 4 года назад
pcw67427 thanks for watching and the comment. I wanted the 20 cause I didn’t want a 21. The VX 20 is nearly 21 ft long at 20-10”. This boat is one of first prototypes Vexus built. It’s resin rich and heavier then the production boats. 70-72 is the best I can get out of this one. The afternoon run back we left out of tin house and ran behind Kings bar so it was mostly protected. We were 55-60 on the way back. Let me know if you have anymore questions.
@pcw67427
@pcw67427 4 года назад
Kyle, Thnx for replying & the extra info, & your welcome. Would love to be able to run that mph in chop like that. I wouldn't hesitate to make long runs on Okeechobee, or any other large body of water, worrying about the weather kicking up on me. I've got an (18'r) & look forward to a longer bass boat when I buy a new 1. I realize the 20 is actually almost (21') & the 21 actually almost (22'). I'm leaning toward the 21 for the extra (4') in length & the extra day box compartment in front of the drivers console. But wonder if the extra (1') would more of hindrance, then a help for a bass boat. Do you know any1 w/ the 21, if so have they've said 1 way or the other concerning the extra length? Obviously if some1 were keeping it in a garage the extra foot could present a problem w/ fitting it in there. Also, the older I get the worse my back is getting. I got to imagine the air ride pedestals make a big difference in those conditions? If & when U get more videos out running it please post them. Thnx again, Paul
@kgfishing1
@kgfishing1 4 года назад
Hey Paul I don’t know anyone that has a 21. The day box would be a nice touch and the air ride seats are incredible. Really impressive and noticed by everyone that has gotten into my boat. You honestly won’t go wrong with either choice.

I must say I could care less about passing boats like you did in the first part of the vid! But..... the last few minutes vid appeared to be pretty impressive! The boat seemed to be running pretty damn well in some sketchy wave conditions! And the hole shot was pretty impressive as well!

I don't see hardly any waves breaking. That is a very shallow lake. Wind like that on a deep lake would be zero fun, even in that boat.

One question how fast will she run my 520 pushes 74 but I'm not not buying a new ranger that's owned by bass pro or better way of saying it is glorified nitro... RANGERS NO MORE ANYWAY VEXUS IS THE NEW RANER
@kgfishing1
@kgfishing1 4 года назад
With a tourney load, I could get her up to 72. This was their first full proto boat so I know it was resin rich and heavier then their production boats. Ive heard their production boats are running 74-75 mph.

There is absolutely no friggin way is THAT 20-30 mph sustained winds & NO WAY is that even close to rough water. @ 5:30 it says 25-30 mph winds!! Hell no, absolutely not- there's barely any white caps. The entire video is like a 5-8 mph breeze maybe? i also don't know what the purpose was of counting boats passed--- if you're running WOT and others are saving fuel, they win in gas savings @ 1/2 throttle, what's your point?? There's no point in counting boats. GEEZ What a bad video. I'm a nobody weekend warrior, & a deep-v guy- I've been in 20, 30 mph winds where the chop is a steady 3-4 footers. That sir, was not your scenario at all in this video
