Getting in to GBBR has been awesome watching your videos and then seeing this, unreal piece of kit. What a world you can run stuff like this in a support role and it would dominate
I bought all of this to try the same thing. I was really disappointed with the performance. The constant winding of the mag, jams and overall just inconsistent performance lead me to buying 20 cassettes. Mainly run hpa with an ammo belt hanging.
hi, I'm in France. I also use the airtac kit on my 249 (6mm line and ammobox P6) I changed the original battery with 7.4v lipos because the original was inefficient and did not last the day of games. I also had some problems, it took some breaking in to get it to work. sorry for my bad English
I have the kit with the Amped line. Runs surprisingly well with 100psi and 0.3g bbs. The only modification I had to do was to the box mag itself. I use the 2500 rounds box mag by A&K and the spring is slightly shorter inducing feeding issues. I bought the Retro arms bowden spring and cut it at the correct length. So far, it feeds amazingly. Gonna have a test this weekend to make sure.
probably your feeding issue is due to the hopup rubber, the stock one does not grp the bb correctly before shooting it. causing to fall from the barrel before being shot and thus not having any speed or spin. I swapped mine to an Maple Leaf Wonder pink 75º (is a bit too hard, the blue 70º will work better) and stopped having those issues. In the near future, I'm gonna get a good barrel ML have 370mm ones, and the BBT HU unit. I'm running my setup with the sound loading, and wokrs flawless, but i moved the mic to be just right under the "bridge" so it gets good sound.
One thing I don understand is why didn’t Airtac keep the bolt lock system? The M249 is designed with a unique bolt lock that means the presence of a BB keeps it working, and it arguably doesn’t need a follower like normal gas mags, as long as there’s a bb being pushed towards the feed lips it will keep chugging. This means in theory they could have kept it and it would still work fine but unlike EVERY other HPA system it would KEEP the bolt lock, giving you the full capacity of the AEG ones with the fun of GBBR And the realistic manual of arms
The more you make M249 GBBR accessible with showing these new parts in these videos, the more I carry the risk to go in debt, which I already am thanks to my recent MWS...
Love me some airtac. Have always been on top of any questions, concerns or replacement parts I've needed; even offered to drop off some stuff personally (I live fairly near them) when I'd only send an email asking if they had a particular product!
Always a great video - Would love to see more of the after action reviews like you did with the Spear and MTW after you used in a game - Would be nice to hear thoughts and usage on this and the MPX
You might want to check out Explosive enterprises trick on how to wind the box magazine I think he put a microswitch by the trigger or something so the mag winds when the trigger is being pulled.
