Demoing some improvements in vhs-decode on a problem tape.
A comparison between an older version of vhs-decode and some other conventional captures of the tape can be seen in this video • vhs-decode vs 3 others... by VideoExtrication
which captured the sample originally. I don't have the full sample used there so don't know for sure if it fixes all the issues or not.
vhs-decode is software for decoding raw data directly from the head amplifier of a VCR, based on ld-decode which does the same for laserdiscs

This tape caused issues as there was overshoot/ghosting from the image on the right which messed with the start of the horizontal synchronization pulse, causing trouble for both vhs-decode and conventional hardware video decoders/TBCs.
The improvements in vhs-decode makes it make use of the right side (end of hsync) to determine where a line starts which helped a lot on this sample, but seems to also help to reduce horizontal jitter further on most other tapes that were already working relatively well. This sample still gives some flicker/brightness issues.
