Wonder if the Burning of Prospero is finally upon us next, should be interesting to see Oculus go into detail of a Space Marine war. After this though I'm hoping Ultramarines and Word Bearers as a prelude to Calth are on the way with an interview from the Big G on the matter :D
Your writing is incredible. It's absolutely my favorite to listen to. I can't grasp how much time you must spend on your videos, but its not lost on us.
One thing you might have mentioned is how requisitions work within the VI Legion. Each warrior kept a personal arsenal that he accrued over time (loot from battle, favors from the Iron Priests, etc.) and the Company/Chapter Captain had an arsenal of heavy/Special weapons that he could dole out his warriors for specific missions but would have to go back to the Jarl after the mission was done.
The Space Wolves were legendary for their assault formations, but considering that they suffered causalities were a bit worrisome. While other legions also suffered several losses like the Iron Warriors and Death Guard they had the ability to recruit more because of their stable geneseed, but because of Russ unstable geneseed only people of Fenris were the only ones to become Space Wolves.
Not true. Earthlings and Martians became VI Legion before the VI Legion was moved to Fenris where their geneseed was locked to Fenris but since Primaris are supposedly from geneseed that aren’t linked to Fenris the geneseed of Russ is effectively free which is why Successor Chapters of the Wolves are pure Primaris.
@@WiseguyThreeOne Yet they still managed to make the VI Legion at the same time as twenty other legions were being formed, a feat which the 40k Wolves never managed, never even got close. Pretty sure the Russ Geneseed is more likely to mutate than to reject - Geneseed rejection is where the geneseed kills the aspirant, VI Legion turn feral and either get sent on suicide missions as berserkers or killed by their brothers rather than by the geneseed itself.
@@psychedashell The Wolves have the secondary Canis Helix that does not match with any other Astartes Legions' process, apparently from the beginning. The only possible other Legion with such a secondary add on might be the Alpha Legion with possible "half-Marines", but that might be a separate genome enhancement path of some sort given the apparent special ops, asymmetric warfare and intel/counterintel focus of the Alpha Legion.
Great video as always, though I noticed some minor mistakes, like the "Know then, that this is a record of..." intro is missing, and the excelsis is missing from the outro. Nothing too big, amazing work as always, Oculus.
This is one of the view channels where I give a Like right at the start, because I know I will love the content anyway and because I don't want to forget to like when I am still caught in the narrative at the end of the video or fall asleep, hypnotised, like it already happened so often.
Ironic how the informal chains of command in the Vlka Fenryka allowed mission flexibility in a manner paralleled by the highly formalized wing, host, and order tactical responses of the First.
Have you ever thought about doing Eisenhorn and Inquisition videos? Rereading the Eisenhorn - Ravenor - Magos (collection) - Bequin saga again end to end and it's still amazing.
The interesting difference in size between the two 6th legion videos is a funny side effect of their character. Their stories would matter a lot more to them than the exact details of wargear or tactical doctrine.
I've watched all these videos and a lot of them several times, but I think the most surprising thing I've learned was that the Wolves were so undisciplined before Russ showed up. I would have thought the World Eaters or Night Lords, but not the Wolves.
VI Legion 'Space Wolves Tactics- Here's an axe, there's the enemy, figure it out! VI Legion 'Space Wolves Structure- There's an alpha wolf that is the role model of how we all ought to be and a bunch of beta wolves that follow the alpha, who's the ultimate role model.
Srsly man you should start a Patreon the way you carry the chronicler reminds me of Brian Jaques novels and an almost true narrator, your' cool glass of water voice is right on but then when it breaks slightly you realise that even this scholar is somewhat tainted and also when you don't change while describing something horrific. *Kisses the trifecta of fingers*
Worst Legion. Furry worship of wolves is cringe and Vikings were a meme magic civilisation that bashed up monks and poor fishermen for 300 years before finding Jesus and embarrassing themselves in the crusades. Trash.
